Dr Gardiner might be a good option for those still in their baby-having years, and wish to remain so, but this was not my case. I had babies young, and have suffered from Menorrhagia for years. I was finally old enough (per my last two OBGYN providers, over 35) with "at least three kids." When I told Dr Gardiner why I was there, her attitude changed. I got cagey answers/excuses as to why having a tubal or hysterectomy wasn't in my future. "Insurance doesn't find it a necessary procedure," was one. I might "meet someone who wants kids if something tragic should befall..." my husband was another. When I said if that was the unlikely case, I would adopt. She told me verbatim "Most men don't accept a child that isn't biologically theirs." I'm adopted, and it says so in my chart. I had to bring ablation to the table, which isn't a permanent solution but it was A solution w/o hormonal birth control or an IUD. Will be seeking a new provider whose plan isn't "to just help me to menopause"
