Shoulder was never the same

Dr. Wilwand is exceptional! His work to repair my ACL has left me with feeling like I have a bionic knee! He has done two partial knee replacement surgeries, one on each knee for my wife. His work speaks volumes. He is caring, considerate and a great listener.

My dad had a routine knee surgery he was lied to by this Dr. and the Dr. Wilwand butchered his knee he had to be life flighted out and has permanent damage and disability know. Dr. Wilwand has the worst bed side manner he is arrogant and disrespectful to his patients and their family. My dad had such a bad infection and Dr. Wilwand kept doing surgery after surgery instead of taking care of the infection my dad almost died we were told by the hospital and Dr. at the hospital that he was life flighted out to that he was very sick and a 30% chance that he would recover he had multiple heart attacks from the infection( he has never had heart problems or anything else he is a very healthy man before this), cardiac arrests and non responsive. I had to call another Dr. from another facility to come in and help me get Dr. Wilwand to release my dad so we could get him to a place that would take care of him. If you value your life and health do not go to this Dr or his partner!!!!

I blew my clavicle into 4 pieces, from the X-Ray is looked like it was only in one piece. The urgent care told me it was just a little fracture that would heal on its own. Dr. Wilwand said it never would. He got me in for surgery immediately, when they opened me up they saw that it was actually in 4 little pieces but they still managed to get it all put back together. He’s a great surgeon and knows what he’s doing, I’d recommend him to anyone. Good bedside manner, excellent orthopedic surgeon!

He did my surgery 5+ years ago & what a disaster it was. Damaged the nerve in my knee & my foot is numb, had complications to the surgery on my leg & left the hospital before I should have been due to his request. Nice personality but..... not for surgery!

I would not recommend having Dr. Wilwand perform your surgery under any circumstance! I have had so much trouble for a "routine" shoulder surgery, including blood clots (twice) and an infection after the surgery that required multiple visits to Urgent Care/ER. When I made an appt to see him, he utterly denies any possibility that the blood clots and infection was a result of the surgery despite the fact that it all happened within the 1st month of him performing surgery on that arm. BE WARNED!

Bedside manner is non-existent. My mother who spiral fractured her wrist and broke a finger after a fall was in misery and he bumped her and was rough while examining. He left her there for 20 minutes supporting a wrist with no brace after he took it off and left. He asked her what pain medication she needed and when she said she didn't know he told her well I can't help you if you don't know what works. She doesn't take enough pain medicine to know the difference between the medications.

I had a torn meniscus to my knee due to an acute injury.( Prior to that injury I had no knee pain.) He was prompt to do the surgery but follow up care has been horrible. I was sent home post op without adequate pain control which was the worst pain I have ever had to experience. After the surgery and healing, I have continued to have pain in knee and at times have been unable to bear any weight on knee or straighten it. He has not taken images to see what is going on inside that is causing the injury, but claims it is arthritis. Arthritis does not suddenly show up, it happens over time. I have good insurance and am going elsewhere.

His staff were very helpful and gave us clear directions. I cannot evaluate Dr. Wilwand because we had the recommended surgery but it didn't take and had to have it done again. I don't know of this is the way its supposed to happen or if something got missed. I can't tell. Not a 5 star review but certainly not a 1 or 2 star review.

Dr. Wilwand did arthroscopic knee surgery on me three weeks ago. I've been surprised by how little pain and disability I've had since the surgery. He and his staff have been extremely helpful, willing to answer any questions, and explaining everything completely. I'm completely happy with the care I received from Dr Wilwand and the Walla Walla Clinic outpatient surgery center.
