Dr Atteberry did a great job of explaining my problems and various options. Surgery went smoothly and was explained so I could understand exactly risk and benefits. Would only go to him for any future neurological problems. For the first time in 20+ years I can move my neck with little to no pain.

Dr. Atteberry did surgery on me 3/31/2012. He was supposed to put a spacer between L4 and L5. He placed it at the L3/L4 level. He pinched a nerve at the L3 level. My left leg has numbness and burning. I’ve had to take Lyrica ever since. Nothing works except name brand Lyrica. My cost with insurance is $469.00 a month. I don’t recommend him. Also, he put a hole in a muscle according to his report to place his thumb in it while he used the instrument to place the spacer in. I ended up with a hernia in my back. I had to have it repaired in Seattle because they had never seen a hernia there before. The Dr. in Seattle hadn’t either. He liked hard cases. I also had to have a double fusion the following year., he didn’t do it.

When I seen Dr Atteberry, I found him very arrogant, and rude. He wasted my time telling me what he was going to do to my back then he told me I was to old and to fat (198lbs) , and (70yrs) . I went to Seattle, got a wonderful neurosurgeon with good results.

I had a ruptured disc in my back which Dr Atteberry cut on for me. I still have some pain and weakness but he said it will get better. That was 9 months ago. He is a great listener and a really nice guy. I know he did wrong level surgery but we all make mistakes and as a Christian I was able to forgive him. None of us are perfect.

He may be great at listening and be very charming but he was disciplined by WA state for performing wrong level spine surgery. Comes up on first 2 pages of google. Come on people, you want this guy operating on your spine???? Ask around in Yakima, be smart.
