Really horrible experience. Also invalidated my diagnosis I have had since I was 15 years old by saying I just needed to relax and not stress. If that was a remedy to my chronic migraines I would have fixed the problem by now. I was originally referred to him by my primary physician who suggested botox injections for my migraines when all medications were failing. Again this is a 21 year old diagnosis I have been dealing with. I got literally nothing resolved and it took 3 appointments of him making me retry meds my primary and I already established did not work. He pretty much refused to administer Botox so I agreed to try another injectable medication in its place. Guess what my insurance would not cover this medication but would cover Botox instead. I spent a lot of wasted time. Missed work multiple times for him to bill my insurance and I am back to square 1. My primary physician is now having to refer to me another neurologist. Yay more wasted time while suffering migraines and lost money from now having to make more multiple appointments to re establish with a new neurologist. If I wanted someone to tell me to de stress I would go to a therapist. I was seeking real medical attention and help and got less than nothing. He had the audacity to have the office try to reschedule me for an appointment after it came to a head where nothing was going to get prescribed my insurance covered and I literally was receiving no treatment. Worst medical experience I have experienced. I dont mean to seem bitter but it feels like they just want to bill yet provide no real treatment.
He seemed only focused on one inconclusive MRI and was not interested in hearing any of the other factors and data points related to my headaches.
The best Dr. We have ever known. Spent weekends trying to help & diagnose our mother. Even on Sundays ! Called several times personally. Dr. Nilaver Truly cares.
he is a very good Dr. and is always on time
I went to Dr Nilaver after having an on set of headaches that would not go away. Dr Nilaver knew exactly what the problem was and treated it. Im super appreciative.
I would not recommend dr. nilaver due to my own experience.if he cant find a diagnosis hes quick to say it must be mental.after his chart note was so difficult for any doctor to take my pains serious until it cost me heart damage, stomach problems, total right hip replacement, total left hip replacement, total right knee replacement, decompression surgery right shoulder,3 blood pressure medication, nerve damage .because he never took the time to take my pains serious.as a physician if he couldnt find a diagnosis he should have referred me to another qualified physician instead of quick to say it must be mental.god or a lawyer help those who trust him
Dr Nilaver was assigned to my case at Providence Milwaukie hospital. I was diagnosed with spontaneous verterbral artery dissection, He was very helpful i explaining the diagnosis. Dr. Nilaver had given me his card and his pager number. 2 months after my original diagnosis I experienced some issues and paged dr. Nilaver for some advise. He knew who I was and remembered my situation. He recommended that I go to the ER. I am now home after 3 days in the hospital and Dr, Nilaver has already called me at home to check on me and be sure that I am following up with another Neurologist who saw me at St. Vincent. I really appreciate Dr. Nilavers concern and excellent followup.
Dr. Nilaver was very thorough. He has a great bed side manner. He answered all my questions, and called me daily for a week until my symptoms improved. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of neurological services.
