I go to Smoot for my Multiple Sclerosis. Best doc I’ve ever had. I love him so much!
Dr. Smoot is the type of doctor who you can tell actually cares about his patients. When I was admitted to the hospital, he wasted no time with ordering labs and an MRI to find out the extent of my flare up and even visited me in my room to discuss what they showed. He insisted that I have to let him know when things are getting bad so he can start treating me sooner. When my partner has questions, Dr. Smoot answers everything and never makes you feel like you are wasting his time. Apart from that, he is a friendly guy and I like working with him on this stupid disease (MS).
This is one of the most caring doctors I have seen. Dr. Smoot gave me time to ask questions, and he provided me excellent advice in how to manage my MS.
He has the personality of his bike. HORRIBLE bedside manner, and I mean HORRIBLE. Totally rushed me and I felt like I was taking up his time. He wasnt interested at all in what I had to say. I have no confidence in this Dr. The test he gave me I could have taken on line. Dont care how smart this guy is ,he shouldnt be a Dr.
I felt very comfortable with him. He listens, and he is very caring. I highly recommend.
A great experience he provided compassionate care. I felt he really listened to me, and he spent a great deal of time answering my questions. I would highly recommend.
Great neurologist.
I felt like he wasnt comfortable with patients which resulted in poor bedside manner. He is very insistent that he is right even though he was wrong. He creates fear and has a very difficult time promoting hope or alternative solutions. If you want alternatives, find a different doctor.
Dr. Smoot operates on the cookiecutter model of medicine: 2 minutes of idle chitchat, 5 minutes of vaguely interested listening to your complaints, 5 minutes of testings, 3 minutes of explaining what hes going to do. If you have a clearcut diagnosis, Dr. Smoot is a good choice, but anything more complicated Id recommend seeing someone else.
He missed the cause of my neuropathy. When another doctor found the cause, Dr. Smoot refused to admit his error.
Dr. Smoot worked with me to control my migraines, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring conscientious neurologist. He was patient and understanding, worked with me over a period of nearly 3 years trying different treatments and medicationw. Great doctor!
Wonderful neurologist and great guy!
