Dr Cheng took care of my mom for years. If your parent or spouse has Alzheimer's she is not the doctor to see. All she wanted to do is put her on Alzheimer's medicine but not any to help with behavioral. Never did she tell me what can happen if the Alzheimer's medication is discontinued when ask except say sure she is progressing and the medication probably isnt doing anything. Never did she suggest a bariatric doctor till I brought it up.I believe my mom would of had better care from someone else and wouldn't of had the anxiety stress fearfulness and probably would of been able to stay home longer if she would of suggested help with a geriatric doctor who could of made her comfortable.Make sure you research the doctor read the reviews ask question because you are there advocate and need your help in finding a doctor to help them not just see them every 6 month for chart reviewVery sad there isn't better doctors for t I is out there but Dr Cheng definitely isnt one
Think you have may have an illness or disease that could potentially impact your quality of life? See a different Neurologist. Seriously. You dont want an M.D. lording over your health, giving you the impression that theyre doing you a favor by seeing you. What was good: 1. Scheduling availability 2. Initial thoroughness (she tested both CNS and PNS) 3. Her reasoning was sound. She is logical. What was bad: 1. Her ability to listen and communicate in spoken English is well below average. 2. Poor bedside manner. Neurological diseases are terrifying. You dont want someone with the emotional intelligence of a potato guiding you through the Dx process. 3. No followup. Took about 1015 business days after the radiologist completed his readings and several nagging phone calls at each step of the process ( scheduling, records transfer, and then followup) before I heard back from her. Did not provide any recommendations for a treatment plan. Did not explain the Dx.
