Excellent care from Dr. Ting.
I recently had surgery by Dr. Ting and cannot possibly say enough good things about him. Not only did the surgery go extremely well, but his thoroughness and bedside manner made me so comfortable before the surgery that I had no hesitation in choosing him. He very patiently addressed all my questions and concerns, even when I would ask the same thing more than once. As well as my surgery went, perhaps even more impressive is his postsurgery followup; he could not have been more thorough or sensitive. I am grateful I was able to have him as my surgeon and would not hesitate to recommend him to those dearest to me.
I was the first appointment with Dr. Ting. His intern was great, taking time, listening, being empathetic. Dr. Ting came in and I felt like just another cord of wood in a lumberyard. He was nice..enough or I should say, professional, but it left something to be desired. He went over the basics of my problem, the one I had been living with for a year and a half, like I just got it yesterday. He had no interest in hearing what I knew and I felt that he started using collegiate words when he was questioned, which to me was a tad passiveaggressive. As if archaic words indicates intelligence. I found that I did mostly listening in this evaluation. I was surprised that when I did ask for about some things he said that I could go seek another surgeon, but dont tell them you saw me, and ask them how they want to do it. Essentially to say, I dont care. He then went on to say he has done thousands of this procedure, and he is the busiest surgeon in Seattle for this particular procedure. Again, its clear he knows a lot, maybe to a fault to the point that his right brain has atrophied when it comes to being interested in people as people and not as just another job. Im not sure if it is a cultural thing. I didnt get warm fuzzies. He didnt once ask what sort of pain I was in.
