After being misdiagnosed and blown off by a gynecologist CHI Franciscan I was referred to Swedish Hospital. I was very fortunate to be taken as a patient by Dr. Shah. He diagnosed my problem just after reading my chart and looking at me. He put me on a fast track to deal with my cancer. He is compassionate, sincere and caring. An excellent physician, a year later he has made me happy and getting healthier all the time. His staff is wonderful and make me feel cared for like family. I am very grateful for his care.
Dr. Shah is a great doctor who really cares about his patients.
Dr. Shah and his staff and nurses made this the best experience I could have hoped for during such a devastating and difficult time in my life. Going to any doctor under these circumstances is never easy. Dr. Shah immediately put me at ease with his compassion, vast knowledge, his years of experience and his excellent patient rapport and care. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.
Dr. Shah is compassionate, empathetic, and superbly skilled–and my wife and I feel that he saved her life. We did a lot of research before selecting him; He received the kind of references that really matter: from his peers in the field who, across the city and to some extent across the country, recommended him to us.Most importantly, of course, his surgical skills were superb; he admitted my wife in the evening and my wife walked out a new person before the end of the following day. We feel very, very fortunate, and very grateful.
Dr. Shah is an excellent surgeon. He truly cares for the physical and emotional well-being of his patients. I am truly grateful for the excellent care I received and for longevity it has provided me. The hospital and his office were excellent. Everyone was prompt and very courteous.
My Mother was referred to Dr. Shah. We could not have been happier. My Mom had to have full hysterectomy. Cancer was found. Dr. Shah explained the procedure before, during and after. Office staff was great with phone calls to us and from us. We feel very fortunate that we were referred to Dr. Shah.
Would highly recommend.
Horrible Doctor. I will never go back to Swedish again. I was supposed to have a hysterectomy due to a precancerous lesion that was missed by the U.W. (I can't even talk about that), and repair of an enterocele that had been causing me excruciating pain, so I thought when I signed the permit. He did the hysterectomy, but did not do the complete surgery. I had asked him to have a colorectal surgeon present, and he gave me a hard time about that, and said it wasn't necessary. He refused to listen to me after multiple visits to his office. He has been disrespectful in his tone and behavior toward me during physical examinations. Although he apologized, that didn't make me feel any better.I was sent home less than 24 hours after my surgery. I was given oycontin and fell twice at home. I was incontinent of stool, and had unusual pain after the surgery. I continued to complain and go back to him and to multiple doctors after the surgery and have diarrhea for months after the surgery. It was discovered 8 months later that I had C difficile. This infection can happen after a person has been given an antibiotic IV. I had gone to multiple doctors to help me find out what was wrong. I had multiple lab tests outside of Swedish, stool tests, and procedures. All I needed was an antibiotic. He refused to order a fecal defecogram and said that was not his specialty. (I just happen to know that test can show an enterocele and other issues that sometimes are not seen on an MRI). Dr. Bastawrous at Swedish also refused to order the fecal defecogram. I think they are in "cahoots" with each other. I finally got another doctor to order that test I needed to show that my small bowel was twisted and lowered and part of my colon might have been involved as well. The enterocele was never fixed and, I believe made worse by not doing anything to repair what was already there. In the mean time, I had an irregular blood pressure, that was not being well controlled. I blame that on being in constant pain, and suffering. Dr. Lewis, my cardiologist, was just as bad. His nurse told me that Dr. Lewis told me to stop taking my blood pressure so often....I went to another cardiologist who just found out that part of one of my stents in my heart is closing off. I'm not surprised. A person can only take so much pain and stress. Now I can't have the surgery that I have needed for so long because I'm supposed to have an angioplasty and be on Plavix. These doctors at Swedish do not care about patients. They only care about making money. That is all.
