I only wish Dr. Kagen did family medicine so all of my health concerns could be addressed by him.

Originally went to see his dad when I was about 7 years old. Now over 40 year later now seeing his son Dr. Charles Kagen. Great doctor, caring and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend! As far as the waiting room part, its gotten much better but I always call ahead to see what the wait will be.

I have noticed the many complaints from people about how much time they spent in the "waiting room". To All of you complaining about the "wait time"? Stop & thank your lucky stars that you spent time waiting to see Charlie Kagen!! There are very few doctors left like Charles & Steve Kagen. Most doctors these days have set time limits to spend with each patient. God forbid if you ask about a medical problem that you didn't mention when scheduling your appointment. You ask your question - the Doctor tells you "sorry, times up, you will have to stop at the desk on your way out & schedule an appointment concerning that issue." Dr Kagen and his staff are amazing. They have always taken impeccable care of my sensitive skin. I like using the products they recommend...and am appreciative of their sun protection awareness. Dr Kagen pays attention to detail and supports the arts! Very important to me. I would wait half a day for an appointment but don’t ever wait longer than 15-20 min. Best doctor I ever went to.Dr.Kagan addressed all my issues,did not rush.He was friendly.The schedualling said to call before appointment in case he ran over.That was nice so there wasn't much waitting in the office.I think that is fair.Some patients are going to take longer than expected and this doctor is not going to push a person throgh.I would rather this happen than walk out without getting my issue resolved. I recommend Dr. Kagen to all my family and friends. In my experience, he is a kind and generous doctor who offers effective and practical treatments. He is the only dermatologist I have seen (and I've seen quite a few) that has actually understood my condition and how to treat it. Also, he is conscious and careful to prescribe affordable medications, which is greatly appreciated! Well worth the wait! I recommend Dr. Kagen to all my family and friends. I have been going to Dr. Kagen for many years. I know there is always a wait. Knowing that, I always bring along something to read. Additionally, when I arrive, I ask the Med Asst how late the doctor is running. If it's more than an hour, I ask if I can go shopping and return 15 minutes before the previously arranged time. It is always worth the wait as Dr Kagen takes care of everything in one visit so usually no follow up appt is necessary. So - you are on notice there may be a wait. Just plann accordingly. I had an extremely aggressive skin infection which Kagen took the time to examine it and when the usual antibiotics didn't work he was willing to try new ones with my consent after listing the possible side effects. I was cured several years later and very grateful for his treatment plans. He truly cares about his patients and if you wait in the waiting room past the scheduled time it's because he's still with another patient. Dr. Kagen is a man who truly cares about his patients overall health and well being, not just the dermatology portion! He educates you on any issues you may have, both in medical AND laymen terms, there is no rushing, talking down, or making you feel embarrassed. Also the wonderful stories and antidotes sprinkled throughout the visits dissipate any anxiety you may have! I highly recommend him, and hope he never thinks of retiring! P.S. As far as any wait may be concerned...enjoy the beautiful view, and appreciate the time to destress that we usually never get! Nearly impossible possible to get a better Dermatologist MD than Dr. Kagan. "Chalk" one up for the University of Wisconsin. I thought he was an Ivy Leaguer.
