Was an intense surgery. 2 week visit with Matthew Bay P.A.C. was very informative. He explained the surgery Dr. Janu did with pictures. Answered all my questions and concerns. Did not feel rushed. Dr. Janu then came in and explained some things also. Very patient and friendly.

Post surgery follow up was poor. After surgery I was told maybe I didn't need the procedure after all directly from the Dr. Dr. Was very communicative pre surgery but post surgery he didn't care.

Dr. Janu is very patient, empathtic, and extremely thorough. He carefully diagnosed my condition, then laid out all options for addressing it both short term and long term. He did not push surgery as the only course of action. Nor did he exert pressure to have to act right away. He cared about me and my unique situation and helped me tailor a more long term course of action which perfectly suited my evolving thoughts about what was best for my overall health. I highly recommend him.

Janu must cherry pick those he cares about because all I got was a fat phobic Dr. that did not want to help me the 2nd time I went to see him. I saw him in 2018 and was told I'd eventually need to get my GERD taken care of and that I had Barrett's esophogus and my weight coming down would help but not solve the issue. Fast forward to 2023 and now my only problem is that I am fat and it will make all my problems go away. I'm now out 6 grand because he can't see past my weight. Based on other reviews, these people were either sticks like he is or he cherry picks who is too fat or not. If zero stars was an option, that would have been my post. Thanks for nothing and making me feel like a waste of space on the planet because I'm fat.

Dr Janu did a robotic laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair this week on me & I am seriously thankful for the professionalism, empathy & care during my out patient surgical stay. Everyone & I mean everyone knew their job(s), anticipated questions & helped before I knew I needed help. Thank you Dr Janu, Fox Valley Surgical Specialists and AMC’s surgical & nursing staff!

Dr Janu was on call when I brought my 81 yr old mother to the ER with a small bowel obstruction. He was able to perform her surgery laparoscopically and my mom went home the same day! There are general surgeons who would have made a large vertical incision to perform the same procedure with days in the hospital and a long recovery so I feel blessed that Dr Janu was on call. Thank you Dr Janu!

Dr. Peter Janu fixed three Hernias' in one surgery on me. He did a fabulous job! Total recovery in less than two weeks! His minimal invasive surgery techniques is second to none! If you are looking for a Great Surgeon: he's the one!
