List of Chen K Chang Md's Reviews
I have known Dr. Chang for 15 years and she has always taken good care of me for any questions regards to my health. Well woman exam will be one of the main element to good health, she will remind me what need to be done and understand my family history to determine what area I need to monitor. Her friendly awesome staff always treat patients right. Her clinic always well kept, clean (always sanitize) with elegant decoration and even chandelier! Most importantly Dr. Chang listens with answers and suggestions! It's hard to find a doctor that care for a patient as a person with great quality of medical care. I highly recommend Dr. Chang to you!
I visited Dr. Chang 4 days ago and went over the details of my office visit with a specialist earlier that day. She listened attentively and told me what I needed to do in preparation for my upcoming surgery. She is a great doctor with patience and care. Couldn't have a better doctor than her. All her staff is very friendly and courteous. Dr. Chang must have a great personality and charisma to have these awesome staff working for her. I highly recommend her as a family doctor.
I called during office hours 3x times for 3 days. May be you should take your spare time to hire more people if your office is "too busy" like you said. Stop making excuses and reply on Yelp for every negative feedback and try to make up stories to sound reasonable. If you have made enough money to remodel the whole office, you should have money to hire more people to give a better service. You are seeing more than 40-45 patients per day for 5 to 10 min for each person. You should hire more people to keep up the needs.
My mother-in-law got COVID a few weeks ago and had reached out to her primary care regarding her symptoms. At one point during her illness, she wanted to get cough drops and did not know where to go since her local CVS was out of cough drops. She reached out to this clinic, asking for cough drops and later receives a notification from CVS that her prescription for omeprazole 40 mg was ready for pick-up. My mother-in-law has never had heartburn, GERD, or any stomach-related issue. She later texts my wife, who is a pharmacist, asking what omeprazole is for. My wife, who actively works in multiple primary care clinics, tells her what omeprazole is mainly indicated for and then asks my mother-in-law what the doctor told it was for. My mother-in-law responds that she was not contacted by anybody on what this medication is for.All in all, this physician prescribed her a medication with absolutely no indication. She did not even bother having a nurse or a team member check in on my mother-in-law to ask about her COVID symptoms. Come on, an antitussive or an expectorant would have sufficed. This was absolutely garbage patient-center care. This should never have happened. I ended up ordering cough drops through instacart. I don't care if this physician is accomplished or what-not. You can still go to the best schools and still provide poor medical care. With my mother-in-law at her age with her risk factors, I definitely do not trust this doctor.Run, don't walk, to another doctor.
They never pick up phone calls during office hours and never return your call after a message was left. Please be smart & run, go somewhere else.
What a response from the doctor finding excuses and lied. I already mentioned to the nurse that my daughter had negative covid test the day before. Plus my daughter already had 2 covid vaccine shot. Never did the nurse asked for proof of negative test or vaccine record. Its simply "we can't see you!!! Period" type attitude. It's pretty obvious this doctor refused to see any patient that has a fever regardless covid status or vaccine. On that same day, I end up bringing my daughter to children hospital. The waiting room had at least 200 people ranging from infants to elderly but all the nurses and doctors there were busy helping patients. They didn't even ask for vaccine or negative tests; all they were concerned about is seeing sick patients. This doctor is simple scared and unethical doctor. Btw, telemed is ridiculous too. I guess she has magical power to diagnose you by just looking at you on a screen. Imagine all hospital do that to their patient!! More people will die from untreated illness than covid.
Dr. Chang has very impressive credentials. She is quite busy though, so she can be a bit quick when it comes to giving you a diagnosis. I don't mind so much as most family doctors do rush through things. My tiff with her is why she referred and pushed me to go to Golden Vision Optometry when I asked her to go elsewhere, which was still under my insurance (I know because I checked with my insurance co. beforehand). I asked her twice and she just kind of brushed me off. Same thing happened when my brother asked. So, me being the curious type and wondering why my doctor pushed so hard on this vision referral, I started to do some of my own research and found out that there are anti-kickback laws in California which prevent a doctor from receiving any benefits for referrals. Now, I'm not alleging anything here - but why is she so adamant I go to that store only? It does beg the question of whether or not she is receiving some sort of benefit, right? Doesn't anyone ask WHY anymore? Doctors are in a position where we entrust them with our health and well-being, but that same professionalism should be questioned when they are not trustworthy.
This is ridiculous, she shouldn't be a doctor. The staff were worse and her office required to have at less one covid shot in order for you to see the doctor, while i am having thyroid problem and need to see the doctor for advice to getting the shot. Never and ever should have choose this doctor, NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR AT ALL.
If I can give a negative review, I will. She needs to quit being a doctor and do other things to make money. My daughter had a fever for 5 days and already tested negative for covid. When I called to make an appointment to see the doctor, the nurse put me on hold and talked to the doctor. She then told me to give my daughter another covid test and I have the option to go to ER or urgent care. I told her she already got tested and it's negative. I also said there are other diseases and illness out there other than covid. Her reply "yeah I know but if anyone of us get covid, we have to close down the the office". If this doctor is so afraid to see sick patients and only see healthy patients, then anyone can be a doctor and don't need a medial degree. She has absolutely no work ethics.
I had a very good experience here. Dr. Cai is very easy to talk to. She is really nice and professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
