I am very fortunate to be the Administrator of Columbus Health and Rehab. The team here is amazing. This has been one of the most challenging years in my career. but working with the sraff in this community and watching them love nurture and protect our residents during a pandemic has strongly reminded me of why i became a nurse in the first place. This is the best team EVER

I volunteer at Columbus Health and Nursing weekday mornings assisting with the breakfast meal. I have time on my hands and like to be busy. The residents are so appreciative of the help I give them. The staff are very friendly and cooperative. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning. I also take care of the garden beds. The gardening is not work for me as much as pleasure. I love being outdoors and I love flowers. I appreciate all the hard work the staff does. They are special caring people to do the jobs they do. I have met alot.of wonderful people throughout the years I have spent doing this work and appreciate the friendships I have made.

Both my mother and father have been cared for at the Columbus Health and Rehab and I am very pleased with their support. Specifically the staff is consistent over time we know who will be working with family members there is minimal turnover. The consistency is so important to those who are already experiencing physical mental social and emotional trauma. Additionally the therapists are excellent and work diligently to reach established goals the nurses are experienced kind and considerate and bring their A game every daynight the assistants are personable and supportive getting to know residents and meet their needs the social worker is thorough and supportive. Everyone has done everything possible to keep the environment healthy and safe during COVID. They test regularly and screen everyone entering every daynight. This is a challenging job at any time but particularly difficult during COVID 19 and the facility is going above and beyond to keep residents and employees safe and healthy. Thank you

I would like to share my experience after my lower back surgery while staying at Columbus Health and Rehab Center. I was here for Physical and Occupational Therapy to strengthen my back. The Therapy Department is one of the best. The therapists put me on a wonderful program that was perfect for my needs. I was getting stronger and stronger everyday. My nursing team was fantastic. The CNA’s were right there to meet my needs. My room and the facility was kept very clean. The food was food. I would recommend anyone who needs this level of care to go to your facility.

I came to Columbus Health and Rehab after hospitalization to recover from a stroke. I was weak and need strengthening to be able to return home safely. I am from Waterloo and this was the closest facility that was able to manage my care. The care was very good. The nursing staff was so friendly. The nurses were top notch The CNAs were upbeat and helpful making me more comfortable away from home. I was very pleased with the therapy staff they can run you a little ragged but its for my own good. I had a pleasant stay.

I have been an employee at Columbus Health and Rehab for 26 years working as a room aide housekeeper and currently a laundry worker. Think about how difficult it is to run a household I take care of the laundry for a 50 bed household. I approximately do 6 oversized loads of laundry which is equal to 15 regular loads of laundry in a single day. I also deliver the clothing to the rooms. I enjoy my job because I like working independently and I take pride making sure the clothing is well care for and attractive. I enjoy visiting with the residents and they are so thankful for assistance with laundry and for the littlest act of kindness.

My name is Krissy Barone I am the new Health United Coordinator at Columbus Health and Rehab. I have been in the health field for 10 years in positions ranging from Resident Assistant CNA and Medical Assistant. I enjoy both longterm and shortterm care and feel Columbus Health and Rehab is the best of both worlds. In my free time I enjoy spending my time with my family hiking and going to concerts and farmers’ markets.My first impressions were that the staff is caring and friendly. I witnessed care and compassion not only for the residents but also for family members. With starting a new role everyone has been very patient and helpful. I am very excited for this new journey at Columbus Health and Rehab Center.
