List of Mayo Clinic Health System's Reviews
Medical care here is great. But the latest security grilling at the entrance makes you feel like a criminal. Even my handicapped wife who can barely walk was questioned about weapons... good grief.
I used to be really impressed with Mayo in Eau Claire . Not so much anymore. A recent visit to their emergency room sucked. After arrival to a near empty waiting room, our initial wait was almost 3 hours. Then to a room for another 1-1/2 hour wait. Nurse arrived, then worked on my wife for about 10 minutes, then another 2 hour wait for a Ct scan. More waiting. So far we've been in the ER for almost 5 hours, lots of staff wandering around, talking, socializing etc, but anyone actually working on my wife, not even 20 minutes. No sense of urgency or hurry. I sure am glad this wasn't a heart attack or stroke as nobody seemed to give a rip about working. So far we've been just about 6 hours just waiting for someone to actually lift a finger. Not impressed.
Friendly Medical Staff Personnel ń caring for You as a Patient in a genuine way overall perse imo ie.
There was only one review and it was negative. All of my interactions there are very good.
If I could give Mayo Clinic zero stars, that would be more accurate to the care we have received for both my wife who is gravely ill and myself, I would. Let's first be very clear that this medical group is not really "Mayo". It's a former hospital group called Luther and was bought out by Mayo. The level of expertise and care is not "world class". On the contrary it's substandard and bordering on negligent. Today for me, was the final straw. My wife has serious medical concerns , and today a serious decision was made by my wife who is currently in the hospital and is being drugged to mask their negligence. When I called to talk to her doctor , I was told someone would call me. No one called me for over two hours. Then when I called back and talked to the receptionist at Luther orthopedics I was quizzed by the receptionist "what's going on" , like it was a nothing. Then when I reiterated that I wanted to speak to the doctor or nurse I was told I was being "rude". I wasn't being "rude" I wanted to talk to someone who knew what was going on, and the receptionist hung up on me. Not appropriate. My wife is literally dying and this shouldn't be about some random receptionist "feelings" , it's about the PATIENT! So I called back and asked again and was told the nurse was busy , I said I would hold. No one ever came back on the line from orthopedics EVER. Instead , I got my wife on the line and finally her floor nurse came in and started speaking at us. I asked if I could speak to the doctor, and I was told by the nurse Annie on the 4th floor that the doctor wouldn't speak to me unless I and my wife were in the room together. What?! I have full medical proxy for my wife and it's been that way for months. So that's a bold faced lie. Then the nurse tells me "assumptions" were made regarding my wife's health. I question that, and at this point , yes, I'm "upset" but I never used a foul word , granted I had passion in my voice, but I was never rude. The nurse tells me I'm rude, again, once again, making this about their "feelings" and not my wife's health. Then she tells me the doctor is gone for the day, ok, that's fair but what about the nurse? This is unacceptable. The level of care we've received sadly hasn't been on par with with even the most basic hospitals and again, not world class. This "institution" is a failure. They have continually not advocated for my wife's health as she has suffered through surgery after surgery and they take the least aggressive and most cost effective route. It's pathetic. If you need real care for real issues, my advice, go to Madison and seek care at UW Hospital. It's an actual research hospital with real levels of expertise and not full of half attempts and lies. I will never set foot in that hospital again . My wife is currently there and I hope to God in heaven that she survives their malpractice and I can get her home and take her to either Minnesota or Madison for the care she truly needs. At the end of the day I strongly advise to avoid the hospital and specifically the orthopedic department in this sham of a hospital.
If I could give negative stars for this hospital, I would. I have been here several times in the last couple years and within that time frame they have performed surgery, ignored my complaints that something was wrong and needed up leaving something inside me when they sent me home. The medical staff informed me I had cancer and scheduled me to come in without consulting the doctor first and ended up not having cancer. Another doctor refused to see me because I was 10 minutes late to my appointment. The first floor told me to go to the fourth floor to check in and then said I needed to check in on the first floor. They gave me a trainee to help me get checked in and the doctor and refused to see me because his next appointment was in 20 minutes . He canceled my original appointment last minute and made me rearrange my schedule for him but when after struggling to get checked in and being 10 minutes late, he would not do the same. Overall I found this hospital to be incredibly inconsiderate about patients' cares and needs. It seems that money is the only thing this hospital finds important.
Quality of patient care has steadily decreased over the past 10 years. My family has experienced prolonged time in response to portal communication regarding acute health issues, an inexcusable lack of mastectomy postoperative pain management, and unprofessional interactions with Urgent Care providers. This is a brief note, I suggest investigating other providers if you're able. Not world class as they advertise.
The person i assume was the director or the person in charge was a prude and security was very unprofessional and rude some staff members were nice and polite. But as for the person in charge and the one security i named prude and rude, what happened in your life to make you treat people like that that? Honestly the two of you make me sick and you should be ashamed of yourselves
I've been going through Mayo for years. They have misdiagnosed me several times, almost killed me with a prescription that another Dr. told me I should never have been given. They do not read patients histories and I have been lied to and yelled at by several Dr's. with an injury I've complained about for over 20 years. They only care about getting in for visits as much as possible and getting you on as many prescriptions they can.
Surgical staff was great and very knowledgeable. If you require post hospital care there is no transition support out of hospital care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
