I had a knee injury while serving in uniform four months before I got referred to the Ortho Institute of Wisconsin, with a misdiagnosed MCL tear, the staff and doctors immediately referred me to get an MRI and scheduled a surgery and they saved me from further damage and pain of my meniscus. My case was not easy, between insurance and work, and I feel so sorry for the staff that they had to deal with this, but they treated me with so much respect and helped me all the way through this complicated process. I appreciate everything Angie Pifel did, going above and beyond with this case. Medically, my surgery went better than expected, all really professional, I look forward to my rehab. Thank you Dr. Pifel. Thank you for being so patient with me and so wonderful.

I highly recommend the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin after having been treated for frozen shoulder. I was initially treated by Dr. Pifel to try non-surgical methods, however due to my expressed urgency in being able to resume an active lifestyle he referred me to Dr. Ansari. I received a complete list of options available and chose to have arthroscopic surgery and manipulation which Dr. Ansari performed on March 1st. Shortly thereafter I started physical therapy with Team Rehab of Menomonee Falls and by May 2nd I was back to playing softball. I am currently playing in 3 softball leagues, golfing, coaching and performing yard work with no pain and no restriction. I am very grateful to everyone at the Orthopedic Institute, Ascension Hospital and Team Rehab for the great care I received.

I had knee replacement surgery back in May. I had a very very rough recovery through the summer. Lots of pain. I was pretty much bedridden. Finally I started to feel much better by October. I was walking normal and I was able to get back to normal living finally. Now my knee is giving me grief and am in lots of pain. It is swollen and has large lumps on the side of the knee. Nobody seems to want to do any further investigation on it. The doctor just keeps saying ice it and cut back on your activities and come back in 2 weeks. Every time I go in it costs me my copay. I didn’t get the surgery so I could be laying around and do nothing. I saw the PA last Wednesday and he finally ordered a bone scan. When I gave the slip to the girl at the front, she didn’t seem too concentrated on what she was doing. I have not received a call from the hospital to get that bone scan done. I have a feeling that the orders were not sent to the hospital. If I wasn’t in so much pain, I would go to a different doctor. I did schedule a second opinion but can’t get in until the end of February. I need relief now and I have a feeling it’s going to take another surgery. The good part is the doctor and PA are friendly.

I am very frustrated with this place. My surgeon and his physician assistant have been nothing but phenomenal. However, scheduling appointments has been a nightmare. For background, I am a surgical coordinator myself. I understand the frustrations of dealing with patients. But, when I couldn’t schedule surgery in person, I was never told a time frame in which I should expect a call. A week went by and I had to call myself. Then, I couldn’t even schedule a follow-up appointment until days after my surgery! I am use to scheduling all appointments so there are no surprises. When I called to schedule my first post-op they tried to tell me my doctor wasn’t available until 2 weeks later. Thank god I was able to see his assistant otherwise I wouldn’t have started PT or even bending my knee until then since no one told me any information about either after surgery. I’m supposed to go back to work on Monday, 10/14. So I scheduled my second post-op appointment for today, 10/9, and the woman who scheduled it told me AND circled on the business card the wrong location. I was willing to travel despite my frustration but, they told me I wouldn’t be able to be seen at the correct location today due to their negligence! Ive been scheduled for tomorrow morning thankfully but, I feel like I’ve been jerked around this entire time! I have people who have to drive me around and help me get around since I am still unable to bare weight or drive myself and all of this has been nothing but frustrating for all involved. Like I said, my surgeon and physician has been great but, everything else has been a nightmare.

Doctors are the best of the best here. Front desk service is hit or miss.

My opinion is this is the best group of doctors that Milwaukee has to offer. I have delt personaly with 2 of them and being in health care have treated pts from most of the others. I would recommend this clinic to my family. GREAT group of doctors and their support staff are always professional curtious and suportative.
