Dr Huizenga recently did surgery on my father. He seems very knowledgeable but he is also great at explaining what is going on to regular people like me. He is personable and has that bedside manner many doctors lack. I thought he did a great job!

Dr. Huizenga is extremely knowledgeable in his field of orthopedics. Not only is he a skilled surgeon he is a master when he consults his many clients. He does Not discriminate in providing expert outcomes based on age. He Will give you his very BEST care if you are 10, 35, 55 or even 99 years old. He shows compassion if you are in pain. He listens to his patients and allow input on treatment goals. His calm and confident approach makes it easy to trust his factual plan for medical treatment. He chooses the less invasive options before suggesting surgical repairs if that is a option. I have never waited more than ten minutes once called into his patient room. It never takes me more that’s few days to be seen if I have a concern. He definitely deserves a 10. Very professional.

This doctor might be a great doctor, but good luck getting an appointment. After leaving urgent care with a broken wrist and a soft splint, the nurses there said to call this doctor to be seen within the next week. The nurse who answered the phone was so apathetic. It was 4pm on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Why would she care? So now my dad is left with a soft splint for nearly 2 weeks. They better hope he doesn’t need anything more serious than a cast

Dr. Huizenga performed emergency surgery on my wrist and did an excellent job. I had a quick and thorough recover. I even went back to him for a second opinion for another situation.
