Used to be really good. Local, could get our kids in same day, and got answers! Now? Have to wait forever on a Mayo phone line, & they want to “triage” your child’s symptoms on the phone with a nurse first. I’m the Mom, trust me when I know my child needs a Dr. You have to fight for everything in the medical systems these days. No one is looking out for you. Like so many Glenwood City families, we’ve moved our care to Western WI Health.

Worst place to have health care was a great place at one point but now I seen so many people that I know that are not getting the care that they truly need I switched to western Wisconsin health and it's a difference between night and day they listen to you as a patient and not a number I have been complaining for a long time about when I had my surgery it was a back surgery very big one t1 to t12 fused and been telling them something isn't right and come to find out something wasnt right but mayo didn't want to take the time and look into it and wanted to treat me like I was a drug seeker when there was an actual reason as to why I was in so much pain all I have to say is if you have something wrong with you stick up for yourselfs and don't go to this hospital a bunch of quacks

I had Dr Shawn Swanepoel for almost 4 years, starting in the fall of 2017 and he just strung me along for years and never gave me even 1 minute of actual help. He was good with my son or I would have left faster-- but no matter how much I begged him to do something (ANYTHING) to help me with the intense depression I was in, all he was prepared to do was cover his own ass in the legal sense. I sat in his office fully suicidal WITH A PLAN IN PLACE, and left with no change in meds, no change in dosage, no referral to counseling-- NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I have been on that med since 2010 and it just wasn't working anymore. I wasn't expecting a miracle but I was expecting him to at least pretend to care that a suicidal person was begging him for help to stay alive. The man does not care. He got thousands of dollars out of me over the years and I am still on that same damn med, same damn dosage, that I had started with in 2010. This man hates women if they shed a tear. (Sorry??? Suicidal ppl cry sometimes???). He should not be a doctor. He is hateful and bigoted against women, especially women who come whining to him with their boring little stories about not wanting to die. This "doctor" is bad news.
