Brian E. Bozelka Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Bozelka has taken care of my family for various eye issues as well as regular exams for 15+ years. Dr. Bozelka and his staff are highly educated, experienced and apply their knowledge well. They schedule appointments to fit each patients need. Consistent, courteous, prompt....all describe the office.....I personally can state one could not get better care than with Dr. Bozelka and his staff.

On Aug. 6, 2014 Dr. Bozelka removed a cataract from my left eye. The nurses were not professional and the anesthesiologist left a lot to be desired in beside manner and competence. Not enough anesthetic was used and I felt everything he was doing. When the hospital sent the survey form asking about my treatment I filled it out honestly. Today, Oct. 20, 2014 when I called Bozelka's office to set up an appointment for VA Fee Basis treatment the woman on the phone (I believe her name is Janice) at first lied about needing paperwork directly from the VA to them. She actually told several lies about needing paperwork so Bozelka could send in a referral when he was already listed as the requesting physician on the paperwork from the VA. I eventually just hung up and called the VA and they confirmed that the paperwork I had in hand was all that was needed. I called Bozelka's office again and again she tried to claim that the VA was "doing things differently lately" until I told her the name of the person I had just spoken to at the VA. At this point she finally stated that Bozelka didn't want to do the surgery because of "something to do with the hospital and you and that's the only place he does the surgery." Translation: the hospital contacted him about the incompetence shown during the first cataract surgery by Bozelka. I would avoid him like ebola. He and his staff are both incompetent and inherently dishonest.
