Anurag Soni's Online Review Report Card

Excellent, very understanding and calm and answers questions so you can understand answers.

After reading reviews, I was nervous to meet Dr. Soni, in fear he was going to be rude and make me feel worse about the way ive been feeling. However, I could not have been more wrong. He took the time to listen, answer questions, get to know me and my medical history. He look at test results with me. He certainly is straight-to-the-point, he doesnt make or respond to jokes. I can see how that can be perceived as rude or arrogant. But I do not believe it is intentional in any way. I left the clinic feeling relieved, less anxious and stressed about my diagnosis and overall in good spirits. Im glad I didn't take the reviews below to heart and formed my own opinion. If you want a doctor with experience, knowledge and a willingness to help, Dr. Soni is your guy.

Dr Soni clearly did not review my chart before seeing me for the first time. He had a treatment plan already decided on without taking into account the fact that I have metastatic cancer. He was visibly surprised when I brought it up. The entire plan changed after I made him aware of what was in my medical record.

The reviews about his poor bedside manner are spot on, he is relatively arrogant and condescending, doesn't give an explanation unless you really press him, and treats you like a child when he explains something. So far after endo/colo, pill cam, genetic tests... I still haven't been given a Dx and he just gave me a pill that judging by their website sped through the FDA. It's hard to rate him in stars without having someone to compare to. The facility itself is excellent though.

Dr. Soni explains things in terms I understand. He is thorough , listens very well and is very easy to get along with. He truly cares about his patients. Dr. Soni does not rush you out of his office, he takes the time and makes sure your comfort level of the appointment is solid.

First of all, I want to thank all of the staff UW Health Digestive Health Center for being professional and friendly. Dr Soni did an endoscopy procedure on me. He was attentive and professional. I had a good experience with this facility.

After waiting an hour past our appt., he came in & explained what was going on for my daughter, which was totally wrong because he hadn't even looked at her file. When she pointed out to him that what he was saying was wrong because she had already had a test at Mayo Clinic that said otherwise, he then admitted that he hadn't looked at her file and stated he wanted time to do that & would call her the next day (Thurs.) She did not get a call until Mon. No help. She still has no answers.

Rude and arrogant doctor.

Abrasive bedside manner. When asking him to explain something he said that I felt was insulting and demeaning, he told me I "took it out of context". If you are looking for a basic colonoscopy with no follow up, great. But long term care decisions, communication and sensitivity for issues that can be awkward? This is not your guy. Side note: his nursing staff members are fabulous.
