I've been with Journey for Years now, and beyond the delivery and prescriptions of meds for my paranoid schzipophrenic son, not much else has been done. He is in crisis now and needs help, and I get crickets every email I send. I was told he was on the Section 8 listing for 6 YEARS, only to find out he wasn't and now they don't even accept new applicants. He is STILL LIVING at my house, even though I've been asking for help to find him housing for YEARS now. My first goal in my intake assessment was to get help for him to learn to live on his own and ride the busses, NATA. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

If you'll notice no one has claimed this business on yelp. I wouldn't claim it either. For being a mental health organization they certainly cause more stress and mental anguish than needed. I was referred here because I got an owi and needed to start the process with an evaluation. Everything was a mess from the start. Not only did they lose the papers I mailed in (been mailing stuff for decades and never had anything lost before) but they blamed me for it. I spent two months trying to get my case manager Charlotte to get the forms sent to the multiple offender class so I could get this over with asap. She was so Unhelpful and didn't seem to give a rats at all. I tried calling and emailing I only ever really got automated responses. I don't think she's even a real person I think she's just a bot. After two months of nothing, I finally called and made a scene with someone on the phone that this needed to be done right now! I cannot wait any longer and the classes were about to start. The gentleman I spoke with got more done in two hours than Charlotte prolly has done in a whole year. It's embarrassing for an establishment that has clearly forgot I might be a loser that got an owi but I am still a human being with problems that I'm trying to make right. Find somewhere else to be honest this place shouldn't even be in business. Charlotte should be ashamed and find a new industry.

I never made it past intake, which was awful. The person I spoke with was difficult to understand due to mushy speaking. She seemed frustrated with me when I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. They finally got my insurance information. I made it clear my child is non binary, used they pronouns and uses a different name, part of the reason for choosing Journey. If course, I provided the legal name for insurance. Upon return call from intake, they said to call back for an appt. for "him", and referenced my son, used several times. They were not clear if they had found our insurance to be accepted. When I returned call, the person who answered was useless and then said the regular person for intake was not available and to call back tomorrow, no offer for them to call me. This was midday during regular business hours. I called back today, the next day, to find myself speaking with the same person from the first call, who acted as though she had no idea what my insurance was and asked for everything again. Very, very poor communicator. I had to ask her to repeat three times, but then she said she was not the original person with whom I spoke. I don't believe that at all, same issues with communication, same voice, same rudeness. Journey may be fine, but I decided to try elsewhere. This was very poor customer service for intake, and it's important to me and my child that their name and pronouns are used accurately.

Worst experience I've ever had receiving MH services.

With the exception of a few good therapists, this place is absolutely horrible. I can't even begin to describe the multiple awful experiences I had here....!

Care more about getting things. Dane County really should contract with a different provider.

I decided to get a therapist for the first time. I stressed out about it for a few weeks and I had no idea what to look for or who to ask so I just went with a place that took my insurance. I scheduled an appointment at 7:30 am. My wife and I only have one car so she dropped me off just before my appointment only to find that the doors are locked. Another patient and I waited outside in the rain. We both tried calling several times to no avail. We even saw someone in their office, made eye contact with them and motioned to let us in but they just averted their gaze and pretended like they didn't see us. We just sat there until about 7:45-7:50 when an employee came in for work and let us in. Once I got in, I started filling out paperwork and a few minutes in, the receptionist said "oh you know what, I don't think the person you have an appointment with is in today. Yea, she's not here so I can get you in on Thursday at a different time if you want". There wasn't really an apology (for the locked door nor the no call-no show), no explanation as to why she wasn't there at the agreed upon time and place. Just, "oh she's not here, we can get you in on Thursday". Maybe the therapist got sick the morning of, maybe her kid got sick, maybe someone died, maybe she just needed a mental health day herself. I'd understand that, but I would have appreciated a call or a text letting me know and I could have avoided sitting in the rain for 15-20 minutes only to be turned away. It's a good thing I'm not having any sort of mental health emergency because now I'm back at square one finding a therapist because I'm not interested in dealing with that kind of unprofessionalism.
