List of Mark Micek's Reviews
This is my 2nd review. I'm the "lucky guy" that wrote a review over 4 years ago after my first visit to Dr. Micek. Check-ups every six moths. Out of control BP and blood sugar now very close to normal range. Personable and professional staff. I have never felt rushed. Dr. Micek has referred me to many of the professional specialists within the UW network. He offers explanations and options that I understand and "fit" my expectations for treatment. I could not offer a higher recommendation.
Dr Micek does not care about his patience . He also does not diagnose correctly
I was placed under his care by the insurance company. I had to change doctor because Dr Micek did not provide adaquate care
My experience with this doctor and his staff has been the worst treatment of my entire life thus far. If you want a doctor that will ignore specialist opinions, this is your doctor. If you are doing well with your test results, they will still find a way to belittle your results. They were not respectful or compassionate for me as a patient and shared no concern when I had a mammogram that escalated all the way to a biopsy (after my own mother had breast cancer). I read these other reviews of this doctor and I feel we must have seen different doctors. It took m multiple times to request to switch doctors before UW Health would allow me the switch.
This doctor and his staff kept insulting me to the point where I had to call patient relations. I am not a rude patient in any way so it was uncalled for disrespect. He ignored specialist advice. My OBGYN was able to diagnose my current condition after this doctor missed them. There was little concern from the doctor and staff when my first mammogram resulted a biopsy (my mom has breast cancer). It took speaking to a specialist to point out this was not normal doctor behavior.
Dr. Micek was friendly, took my comments seriously, offered a few options for treatment and seemed genuinely interested in me as a patient. I highly recommend him, but I don't think he's taking new patients at this time. I was very impressed.
I find Dr Micek to be caring and helpful. He listens to what you have to say and gives you options to review with him to find what fits best for your situation. Some doctors tend to be typing on their computer almost constantly while you talk, he does not do that.
I'm a 63 year old male that spent too much time working and taking care of everything but me. After unrelenting pressure from my family I agreed to see a doctor for my first physical check up in over 15 years. I knew that if I needed surgery I wanted to be treated at the University Hospital in Madison. I am an Illinois resident, willing to travel to Madison for what I perceive as the best local serious care available. By chance, my daughter selected Dr. Micek. It has been 1 year and 4 visits with Dr. Micek. He has co-ordinated and referred me, within the UW Health network, to specialists for Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, Opthamology, Audiology, Dermatology, and Gastroenterologists. Nutritionists. Incredibly, through every contact I had within the last year I was treated with dignity, respect and professionalism. Dr. Micek's professionalism, personality, demeanor and ability to relate to me, will keep me coming back. I am a lucky guy!
Dr. Micek is GREAT! And yes, I truly am a patient; not staff. I have been seeing Dr. Micek for 8 months now. He is very bright, very knowledgeable and very alert. I feel he truly listens to his patients and cares about them. He has a tight schedule yet every single appointment I have left feeling that we have addressed all of my questions and concerns. When I had to call in to ask a question about some new medication he called me back himself and took the time to explain it to me. He is a little difficult to get in to see as a new patient because he is so good, but it is worth the wait.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
