David Marcu's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Marcu helped me so much this week. After 2 years, my knee wasn't bending enough to bike, and I was thinking of giving up. When I asked for his assurance that I could get it bending, he not only affirmed it, but recommended I purchase extra large mountain bike pedals with 1/8 tacks that would allow we to get some twerk even if my foot was angled downward. It WORKED! I am overjoyed to ride again. $58 later, and I can put my foot flat to work on stretching it or let it point downward when I need a break. Thank you, Dr. Marcu! You are the best. (The guys at the Sports store were impressed.)

I had two hip replacements done by Dr. Marcu. He did a great job and I am so thankful for him and the other staff that helped me get back to normal everyday life.

I tried everything possible to avoid a shoulder replacement but when I was no longer able to do or enjoy doing too many things without pain, I contacted Dr Marcu. Having worked with him for many years with my shoulder issues and having always been given thoughtful and sound advice, I felt confident when he suggested it was an appropriate time to replace the shoulder. Although not looking forward to the recovery time, I agreed after the process and expectations were very clearly laid out for me by Dr Marcu. From start to finish everything was courteously and professionally handled by Dr. Marcu and the staff at Orthopedic Associates and Sauk Prairie Healthcare; they were all nothing short of amazing! The reverse shoulder replacement was successful with no complications and little pain post-op. As I continue to regain my range of motion and strength, I am now able to look forward to doing the things that were too painful before the surgery. Dr Marcu proved himself to be a highly skilled surgeon as well as someone very easy to work with and trust. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Dr Marcu to anyone in need of joint replacement. Thank you Dr Marcu!

Dr. Marcu is straight forward and honest when discussing the procedures. He is friendly and conveys a feeling of care for his patients. I have had a hip and knee replaced in the last year and am so glad that I have had Dr. Marcu perform the operations. i wouldn't want anyone else to perform this type of surgery or go any where else.

Dr. Marcu and his team were amazing! He took an active approach in making sure I knew all of my options for healing my knee injury.

I had my right hip replaced on Aug. 24,2021 with Dr David Marcu, and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH MY RESULTS. I waited to post this as I wanted to be 12 weeks out from my surgery. My results were exactly what I had hoped for and expected. I am pain free. I no longer have to sleep in my recliner at night. I am back in my bed! I can wear footwear other than the tennis shoes I have worn for the last 4 years, any kind of heel gave me increased hip pain. My limp is gone and I can ascend or descend a flight of stairs consecutively. I am walking for exercise again. I got my life back! I had my left hip replaced 18 yrs ago at Sauk and went back because of that previous positive experience. The new hospital and campus are beautiful and easier to navigate. The staff is excellent. Housekeepers, Food Service, PT, Nursing, Pre-op and Post Recovery, OR, and last but not least the Doctors. They listened. Together we developed my surgical and recovery plan. I did what they told me (exercises pre and post surgery), just as they laid out. So Thank you Dr Marcu and staff and Sauk Prairie Healthcare. Dr. Marcu and his staff are very supportive and informative. I have had both right and left shoulders repaired by Dr. Marcu. Both had labrum tear and left had rotator cuff tear. I have recovered 100% from right and 80% at 6 weeks on left. Insurance first denied surgery, but Dr. Marcu understood how much pain I was in and went to bat for me to convince insurance company. I had a knee replacement in December of 2020. I was nervous however the results were "no more pain"! The staff, inpatient and outpatient were informative and caring. The physical therapy was actually something I looked forward too, during COVID it was great to focus on rehab. Dr. Marcu was honest and encouraging with the procedure and I was back in the water in 6 weeks and swimming at 9 weeks. My entire treatment plan was well thought out and I am scheduled for my second knee in November 2021.

I just want to say David Marcu and staff at Sauk Prairie Health Care operate like a well oiled machine. I found them to be kind, considerate, caring, informative and knowledgeable. I have had poor experiences at several local hospitals and do not use them any longer. This was my first experience in Sauk Prairie and am very impressed. I hope I never have to go to the hospital again, lol, but if I do I would not hesitate to take advantage of their ability and staffing. I gladly give them 5 out of 5 stars!!
