List of Kurtis Scheer's Reviews
Not impressed at all! There are better doctors than this out there!
Dr Scheer is outstanding. He is compassionate..clearly explained my painless procedure. His expertise is demonstrated. His staff is awesome and put me at ease. I recommend him for any surgery..I want to express to the Dr and his staff many many thanks for your respect and professionalism.
Dr Scheer treated me well. I would agree with Donna's review on Jun 30, 2016. I was admitted for Pancreatitis and gall stones which led to cholecystectomy.
Did not listen carefully. Could not explain things in logical sequence. Had to ask the same question several times and then did not get a complete answer. Acted and spoke as though I do not know my body and all other doctors I have seen over the past 50 years were wrong and after reviewing my medical records for 10 minutes knew with absolute certainty my medical conditon!
I had hernia surgery in 2011 for what I was told 2 hernias. I was a fit 21 year old with only slight discomfort before surgery. Doctor Scheer decided to put a large 6.2x8.2 inch mesh in my abdomen to cover 2 small hernias. I spent 3 days in the hospital due EXTREME pain and left still in pain. I went back to him for my routine follow up appt and expressed the concern for my still continuing pain. He at that point thought it was okay use the palm of his hand to use sudden and unexpected force to the area of concern. I screamed out loud with agony and asked him why would he do that and he just starred at me with a shocked look on his face. I left immediately and never returned to him again. I still was in daily pain 6 months later and tried to get help from other doctors without success. Years now passing with no relief and medical bills piling up I thought maybe one of his associates would understand the situation better so i spent time on the phone with a triage nurse explaing the situation so that way the new doctor seeing me was fully aware before the appt. When i went to that appt the female doctor was extremely rude and told me that i needed antidepressants and that no doctor would help me because i was crying after she basically told me its all in my head. Even though i pointed out the fact the mesh that was used was recalled. Years went by again. Pain still present everyday. In 2019 I found out i had to have a hysterectomy and was concerned with the laparoscopic route due to complications with hernia surgery. My obgyn referred me to a general surgeon at aurora baycare in green bay wi. Within minutes this doctor recommended mesh removal surgery! After surgery i found out not only was my mesh adhered to my colon, bladder, liver, and one ovaries (which had to be removed) but that i only had 1 hernia not 2. He fixed the hernia with an internal suture. I left the hospital the next day with the least amount of pain i had been in for the previous 7.5 years and had just had 2 surgeries done. I tried to file a malpractice lawsuit but since statues of limitations had passed i was unable to do so. Anyone that has had a surgery and feels like something is wrong please listen to your body and dont let any doctor make you feel like you are the problem. I would not recommend anyone see any of the doctors at lakeside surgical because it is clear they cannot admit there maybe a problem and clearly they cover for one another. Also ask what mesh if any is being used and do your own research before using it.
Not enough space to explain my situation. Please check the other reviews i have left for better explantion of review

What kind of place forgets to call you when you have everything set up for a colonoscopy! They just "forgot" to call me and give me the time then when i call after hours they can't figure it out either. Call someone the day after I'm supposed to have it and they still don't know what happened. They say they are going to call me back and what a shocker never did!
I am another person who has endured his surgical inadequacy. He ignored the infection that I had. I had to go to the ER to have it diagnosed & treated. It took 5 mouths to heal and only then because I sought a wound care specialist. More of the people I have talked to need to write reviews of their experiences. I learned to ALWAYS RESEARCH thoroughly any provider that you choose. 6 years later this remained unresolved.
Dr. Scheer was responsive to my emergent medical condition and cared for me as though I were as important as his own family. He explained every step of the process from diagnosis to treatment and recovery with confidence. He answered all my questions and my family's questions to our level of understanding. His undivided attention was comforting.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
