This man did a terrible surgery on my mother. She will die from him ..she went in healthy 3 years later she down to 70 pounds in an out of the hospital weekly. He ruined my mom's life. Terrible bedside manners unprofessional. He should not be practicing. This man doesn't have any value for human life. This man disgusts me
We came to Dr. Denning for a second opinion when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2021, as we needed someone who has experience and knowledge with pancreatic cancer. After reviewing my mother’s scans, he determined she did have pancreatic cancer and going by by the CT images was a candidate for the Whipple procedure. We scheduled the procedure while in his office for the following week. With God guiding his hands, Dr. Denning performed a successful procedure and in record timing! He is a great doctor, surgeon and person as well! He never failed to call and keep us updated on how the procedure went, and after the procedure while she was hospitalized, anytime I had a question, if he wasn’t readily available, he always called me back at his earliest convenience and made sure I understood and didn’t have any other questions or concerns! I would highly recommend Dr. David Denning to anyone, especially for extensive and/or major surgeries!
After reviewing my experience with Dr. Denning I have to say I was too generous giving him two stars. He is extremely rude and is currently unsympathetic. He asked me completely inappropriate questions and I was completely taken aback. So much that I couldn’t answer. Very much like a repair man who came into my home once and said sexual things to me that were so completely inappropriate that I didn’t even have the presence of mind to throw him out or even call 911.
This dr has been a blessing for my family including many other families out there. If it weren’t for Dr. Dennings my brother may not be alive today. Thank you Dr. Dennings for all your hard work!!!!!!
Most unprofessional Dr. I have ever experienced. He DOES have multiple malpractice claims that have been filed against him. All you need to do is search the WV board of medicine website to see them. Go elsewhere. I would give him a zero if I could
Caused great harm to family member. Very careless during surgery. He left a sponge.
I had one surgery with Dr. Denning 20 years ago, and it was a long one. The doctor stuck it out, as it was quite involved, and I'm alive 20 years later to talk about it. I just went to see him again, and he has suggested another surgery. I have no qualms about having him do the surgery; I definitely trust him. My family doctor told me he is the kind of doctor that never hesitates to tackle a tough case; I find that a very accurate portrayal. He is quiet, but gets to the point quickly. He won't play around with you, which gets high marks from me.
I know a lot of people said he was awful and had terrible bedside manner but my husband just had hernia surgery this morning and he was nothing but nice, friendly and professional. he answered all our questions and put our fears at ease. He performed the surgery well and all went as planned. We really liked him.
Dr. Denning is a great surgeon. He is very matter of fact, which can sometimes be taken as rude, but he does not beat around the bush concerning your health care. He is the only surgeon I will ever go to again.
He allowed a resident physician to perform my outpatient gall bladder surgery. My aorta was punctured and I nearly bled to death. They did not know my blood type in order to immediately give me blood. Dr. Denning claimed he did the surgery, when in reality the resident physician admitted and apologized for the accident. Several years later when my medical records were requested by another physician, the record of the surgery suspiciously could not be found.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
