Dr. Korona is the epitome of what you want in a physician. He goes above and beyond for his patients and their care, he is very up to date on the latest medical procedures, and he explains everything so you are at ease with what to expect. I would recommend Dr. Korona to anyone!!

In 2011-12 I was close to dying of liver failure. Went to cabell-Huntington hospital. Dr. Korona did an emergency TIPS procedure on me and told my sister I would get worse before I got better.(4-5) days. That’s EXACTLY what happened. I was in ICU for almost 7 days. I will say this : he had a heavy surgery schedule that night but he plowed right through. His skill is why I am around today. I had been to GI’s and even a hepatologist at UK. If I had listened to the guy at UK , I would not be here

In 2011 I had severe as it's and swelling from e liver disease. Went to cabell Huntington hospital and dr. Korona did a T.I.P.S. procedure on me . He told my sister that I would get worse before I get better. He put her mind at ease in a very stressful situation. I was literally on my last stand. When I had a revision, I specifically asked that he would be the one to do it . I never have met him to personally thank him. He is , without a doubt, the "real deal" and one of the most talented doctors in the country. I'm still here seven years later and my T.I.P.S. is still patent . Southern West Virginia is very fortunate to have a doctor of this caliber.
