This doctor sent my daughter, who has cerebral palsy and is mentally impaired, home with a 6mm kidney stone. He was angry because I would not let him take a urine sample. She has never been examined or had a urine sample from her private areas. She would have been traumatized by the experience. He stated that she had a 6mm kidney stone and would, “pass it with no problem.” He sent her home from the ER at St. Mary’s hospital in Huntington WV. I had to take her back to the sane ER the next night because by then her urethra was blocked. The ER doctor we saw the next night immediately put my daughter on IV fluids, admitted her to the hospital and got her a room. The next day she had to have surgery to remove the kidney stone. I will never forget that Dr. Teka sent my baby home with that large a stone like it was no big deal. That was completely irresponsible and not professional just because I would not let him catheterize my daughter and traumatize her! I would never recommend him to anyone. He is not responsive to the needs of a person with disabilities or the fact that her mother knows her daughter better than a random doctor in the ER.
