My daughter had appointment this morning did not have a mask and turn away.That’s not the problem it’s how she was talked to from the office secretary just laughed and said to leave.My daughter never complains but the lady she spoke with was so unprofessional and cruel it sad people can treat others so unkindly.The Dr and other medical staff are great but the office staff are so rude.I dealt with this myself when I took my father there .I call the office manager she would need even listen or let me speak just yelled.so that tells me nothing will change on there ever as long as she’s over it.They should treat you as you treat them with kindness she it’unprofessional we will never come back.That sad because their are good PA’s there.There is multiple comments on reviews on office staff on here so here’s another .

Horrible management of scheduling. Colonoscopy scheduled for 1pm.. had been NPO since midnight. We left at 3:30pm when we still hadn’t been taken back. They were very rude to people without masks on and turned them away. Spoke very openly about patients procedures. HIPAA doesn’t scare them as much as a mask mandate from what I see.

Great staff, good location. Wouldn't be alive today without gastrointestinal surgery and meds. Definitely recommend this office.

He cares, but has too much on his plate. I have been rescheduled three months in a row. I need on a stronger stomach medication and then the rest I have needs upped. I’ll get that soon finally, though. The staff is pretty good. They usually answer my phone calls the first or second time calling.

I go yesterday I have appointment see to gi doctor but melody nurse see me and tell my past history and I told tham I need my old madicin refill like I have gastric problem and I run out tablet that time thy told me thy sent on pharmacy and I call my pharmacy thy se thy not receive any thing so I call doctor office and I tell them I need refill thy se thy not give you any refill and thy charge me office visits 125$ And thy not provide me any my regular tablet refill and melody tolkin so rudely is so bad this location I never go again

Poor scheduling!!!! Why would you schedule a colonoscopy at 1pm and starve people and not even see them til 4pm....everyone is angry in waiting room. Thankfully a patient gave us all numbers to a better Dr to go to!

My husband was referred by Bluefield Hospital due to bowel bleeding. After waiting 5hrs for the colonoscopy, the nurse shakes my husband's foot to wake him and Patel tell him his stomach was enflamed, gave him Rx and pushed him out the door. Never explained why it was enflamed. Went to Dr. Mullins to have the same procedure only to fine out my husband had colorectal cancer..... STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR FAMILY'S LIVES!!!

I can't complain. Did have to wait but there is a sign up that tells you that. The ladies up front were very nice. The lady that works in the back with Dr. Patel I'm assuming is his nurse was nice, she also has a lot to do. I thought she was very professional I know some people had low regard for her. But she's not there to hold your hand or make conversation. She's way too busy getting every patient ready for their procedure. Dr. Patel was very nice and explained everything. Some of the staff is incompetent, rude, lazy, and unprofessional! Between the nurse and the NP Shannon one does not stand a chance. Call multiple times and can't get a refill. Had to go several months without the med, & suffer. Their excuse is that the system had been down & now they are backlogged. Apparently they forgot how to pick up & use a phone to call Rx in. 🤦‍♂️ It is to the point that it makes me ill everytime I go anymore? In hopes to find me another Dr. to write my meds so I only have to go there for test. Dr. K. Patel has always done me good when I have seen him. Hope he reads all his reviews, including the health grade reviews. They are a good eye opener as to how his staff runs his business.

Part of his staff is incompetent! Can't do their jobs & lazy. Definitely have no quams with any of the surgical department staff. The Dr has always done me well too.
