Very professional and thorough.

Dr. Wood was once a good PCP. Unfortunately, after some years passed and his workload increased, he has really gone downhill. The turnover rate at his office is nearly unbelievable. He has had some very competent Nurse Practitioners, who were all wonderful, but they never stay. He no longer spends any time answering questions, asking questions, or providing any useful information and a yearly "wellness" visit is no more involved, nor requires any more time, than a regular visit (but costs quite a bit more). What was once a pleasant, helpful experience, is now a get in, get out, and bill affair.

I would rate 0 stars if I could, never have I felt more ignored by a Doctor's office in my life. And what's worse it that the office isn't open to receiving visits on the basis of `general health inquiries` because `that's not the point of a physician,` they then went and left me with an almost $300 charge for an 'appointment' where I was ignored for 15 minutes straight... absolutely unacceptable

THE ONE STAR IS NOT A RATING ON YOUR PRATICE I CANT RATE IT WITHOUT EXPERIENCING IT what I want to say is that when my wife dropped of papers she was told you would let us know one way or the other never heard back then she called about a week later and was told we weren't accepted no explanation why .If it was an insurance problem she should of been told and then we could of resolved it

Likely the best in the Ohio Valley at relating to a patient's needs, and sending along to a specialist if needed. His career and Marine background contribute greatly to his "experience." Dr Wood, and ALL the Nurse Practioners who have serviced me for the past 5 plus years do an extraordinary job at "listening to the patient" before probing. When prescribing meds for an ailment he is quick to follow up on medicine effects on patient and adjusting accordingly. You will get any better service.

It’s amazing that you can find this level of care within the Ohio Valley region! Dr. Wood and his entire staff were more than helpful with any question or situation that I had while becoming a patient, moreover the attention to detail in regards to my personal healthcare plan was astounding!I found this to be a breath of fresh air in a medical climate of uncaring and obtuse medical professionals. I would hope more doctors strive to emulate the example Wood Family Medicine encompasses!

The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's office. I didn't even meet the doctor. However the staff was rude, condescending and asking me why I was looking for a physician. That in itself is unacceptable. I explained to them numerous times that I had relocated to this area and naturally I needed a physician! I am also disabled which they did not even take into consideration. Apparently I had to be chosen as a patient! That is not professional, proper, and is ethically and morally wrong. I don't know if it's the good old boys club or what it is. But to discriminate against me because I'm disabled and need a doctor is not legal! Apparently the doctors in the Ohio valley area feel that it's okay to have to be accepted by a physician without even being seen. This is not okay! When they are accepting new patients and your insurance covers! I will continue to report the doctors that did that to me. I have found a competent and delightful doctor, but this is unacceptable and for anyone else who moves to this area you need to stand up for yourself and report them! Being a retired medical assistant and a nurse I am also aware of the questions they asked me on the phone that were inappropriate and should have been asked by the doctor or the nurse practitioner when they saw me at a new patient visit! This is disheartening and I've never seen anything like it. Whatever happened to do no harm!

I was wrongfully accused of trying to get extra Meds. The pharmacy AND insurance company confirm that I wasn’t but they still deny me service now? They over-charged me 6 separate times. Sent me to Collections...TWICE, when I wasn’t late on payments.

Dr Wood really goes the extra mile.
