Shashi Urval's Online Review Report Card

Tried to release my mother when her kidneys were shutting down. Wouldn't put her on dialysis, so she passed away in 4 days. She was in pain everyday until she passed. I even tried to get a second opinion but every Wheeling Hospital Doctor I called said they would just agree with Dr. Urval without even see her or her records.

Very much dislike him. He has partnered with my PCP (who I have been with for at least 15 years) and has caused me nothing but problems. My PCP is wonderful but is soon retiring. It’s obvious to me that Dr. Urval taking the drivers seat is a bad idea. He refused to refill an inhaler, a literal life-saving medication. He did not listen to anything I said in our first appointment and didn’t even show up for the second, for a medication check on a medication only a doctor can provide. I went four days without a medication because he couldn’t be bothered to show up to the appointment we scheduled for three months out. I was incredibly sick from missing the medication. When I’ve told him a medication is working but not well and the dose might need to be higher, he ignores me. What is the point in taking it then? Seems from these reviews that I’m not the only one he’s done this to, which is a shame because he’s running people off from my very wonderful PCP’s office. Myself included

My dear aunt went to visit Dr. Shashi Urval and had nothing but a bad experience. She had gone in to discuss leg and feet pain (as she is a survivor or many life-threatening strokes amongst other health issues) and Dr. Urval didn’t even take the time to look at her file before visiting her room. He looked at her and said her only problem was that she “is fat.” And that’s exactly how he phrased it! My aunt has been through so much and only visits doctors when it’s an emergency. How dare this man make a degrading assumption about her diagnosis when she has a history of serious health problems. I highly DO NOT recommend this physician as he has a terrible bedside manner, does not take the time to get to know his patients, and cannot properly treat patients.

Dr. Urval will never fight for his patients. He is more concerned with satisisfying insurance companies. I laid in bed for months thanks to him. ! Dr. Urval is now in with a bunch of terrible doctors. Better not get admitted because you will get a doctor you never heard of! Don't say you haven't been warned! Oh and staff gets political. Sad.

Dr. Urval WAS my family doctor. He acted like I was bothering him .He does not listen. I laid in pain for over a month because he doesn't care. I called the insurance company, and they were waiting on him! Also look into who you will be admitted under. He will send some 1st year doctor while he is at home. Good luck!

I have two of my children that have gone to him. So compassionate and knowledgeable. He took time to listen and really get to know what was going on. I would highly recommend him.

Great doctor. Didn't push needless tests or procedures while doing a great review of physical health.

Dr. Urval has always been quite attentive to our ailments, he listens closely to the patient's comments, shares test results with them and clearly recommends a treatment plan. He is quick to suggest treatment by specialists, and with your approval has his staff set up visits with them when he feels you will benefit by it. His staff is very friendly and never cuts you short on your needs. My wife and I have been seeing him for treatments over six years. Keep up the first class work Dr. Urval.
