Howard A Schneider's Online Review Report Card

I do not recommend this "Rheumatologist" at all! After a barrage of blood tests (19 vials) and a Gallium scan (which I am told is his standard procedure), Dr. Schneider completely MIS-DIAGNOSED me with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have zero joint pain and there was no evidence of R.A. in either my blood work or the Gallium scan. He prescribed 6 weeks of steroids and another harsh medication (Plaquenil), that could potentially harm my eyesight and even cause blindness! I consulted with my primary care provider, and he also strongly disagreed with Dr. Schneider's diagnosis. He sent me for a second opinion to a reputable Rheumatologist, who conducted the correct blood tests, all of which came back negative for R.A. I am so thankful I was not gullible enough to trust Dr. Schneider and take the harmful drugs he prescribed for a condition I did not even have! In addition to the above, the walls of this doctor's little back room office are lined with photos of the Mafia - weird! I found him very odd and felt most uncomfortable in his presence.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schneider for 11 months. After tons of expensive, outdated tests, he misdiagnosed me, and said I had rheumatoid arthritis. He had been treating me with methotrexate (made me very sick, and made half of my hair fall out). When he finally agreed to let me try something else, he put me on an incorrect medication (an organ transplant rejection medication) that I was on for 2 months. He also miswrote a prescription for steroids in the wrong dose. I went to a new Rheumatologist who saw that I DID NOT have RA from my blood results from 11 months ago. This makes me very upset that I was on these harsh drugs, suffering being sick, missing work due to being sick from these meds, all for nothing!! I have talked to 2 other people Schneider diagnosed with RA who DO NOT have it, and also had prescriptions written incorrectly. If you know any of his patients, please tell them to get a second opinion for their safety!!!

My mother went to Dr Schneider because of an injury . He didnt address the possible injuries and instead was more concerned about her person life. She went to another Dr after about a month and had an MRI and needs surgery. This Dr needs to retire.

Dr. Schneider is a great psychiatrist. One of the best I have ever met in my life. Thank you for everything doctor.

Doctor Schneider is very good doctor. Even this is vacation time for him and I was not feeling good and he still helped me. He always tries very hard.

Dr. Schneider has been treating my Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) for the last 3+ years. Dr. Schneider and staff have always been professional, friendly and go the extra mile to get the best RA med that will target my form of moderate to severe RA. He listens patiently to my complaints and acts quickly to order tests when he suspects my RA has gone active, which it has in the past. His remark was simply, "I always listen to my patients" and I have found that to be very true.

He and his staff are professional and friendly.

If you've seen him and gotten an RA diagnosis, GET A SECOND OPINION. Honestly he needs to retire. He uses outdated (by 30 years) testing methods and throws RA diagnoses at everyone. I was misdiagnosed and he did not address the issue I went to see him about. He also prescribed me a very strong and potentially dangerous drug which I ended up not needing because his diagnosis was completely wrong. I got a second opinion and my new rheumatologist said he's gotten a lot if patients from him whom he has misdiagnosed. The issue I went in to see him about that he completely disregarded ended up being a very serious medical issue and he completely ignored all of my symptoms. The reviews about Dr. Schneider are no lie. He digs in until he solves it. And he is great with weird. After seeing numerous doctors over the last 2 decades, I have been diagnosed with a myriad of health issues. Recently, I was sick for almost a year, being told to "suck it up" and getting referrals to psychiatrists because the testing they swear by all came back showing no issues that they could see. I lost over 60 lbs and could no longer work, it was so bad. It took me finally getting a referral to see this man to start the ball rolling to actually getting some help. So far, three health issues were found (not least of a gallbladder that was severely infected) and two have been diagnosed and treated. The last is taking place now. I can't thank him enough.
