I've never felt so comfortable with a Dr. He walked me through my surgery multiple times, and has made sure that during my recovery my mental and emotional health has been a priority as well. I will forever be grateful for such an amazing Dr.
Inconsistent provider... Creates doubt on the patient. None of them are all that good today.
My best friend had been having a distended abdomen and her periods stopped. Had some scans done, saw him in August. He said she was fine and nothing was wrong with her ovaries. 20 lbs of fluid removed and seeing a different doctor.... My friend just had a total hysterectomy and a portacath done placed for chemotherapy because she has ovarian cancer. My best friend had been having a distended abdomen and her periods stopped. Spent time explaining the choices with me and my husband during my visits. We opted for surgery after some additional work ups and tests. On the day of surgery, Dr. Nelson was very comforting and answered all of our questions and seemed generally concerned about my well being amd comfort. At my first post-op, he explained what was normal healing and help put my mind at ease. At every appointment, I have never felt rushed and have left with all my questions answered. Highly recommend.
Dr. Nelson was empathetic about what I was going through. This means a lot to me. My regular OB retired and I will be seeing Dr. Nelson from now on.
He is one of those dr who you will either click with and love or you won't like at all. He delivered my 4th baby. I needed to be induced because of hypertension issues. I had only met him once before my delivery as I had seen dr. Fischer for most of my regular ob appointments. I was a little nervous about him after reading some of the negative or less than 5 star reviews about him but decided to give him a chance. My 3 other deliveries went a little differently than this one because he made the decision to proceed a little differently based on my history. In some ways it was a little harder because I sort of expected this birth to be handled like my previous births and needing an episiotomy and having 2nd degree tearing and the provider breaking my water around 5cm despite the risk of prolapse cord. He didn't do that until I was 10cm and the baby's head was fully engaged with a bulging bag which resulted in a slightly slower labor, but saved me so much. I seem to have stretched out a little better because of how he handled it despite this baby being just as big as my previous babies. I already knew everything he brought up so he didn't have to explain pro/ cons or much about procedures which might be part of why we got along so well. He also hugged me after the delivery which none of my previous providers had done. I normally don't write reviews about drs, but felt that he had gotten a bad rap review wise which possibly made some women decide not to go with him. I would most definitely have him as either my primary and deliver my baby again. He will do what's best for you and the baby. He might not be a big talker but he is an excellent provider and all the other reviews on here are really a disservice to him. Delivery day was a very long day starting at 6am and ending at almost midnight so I spent more time with him than I probably would have with multiple appointments. Don't be put off by some of the other reviews out there. He's much better than portrayed to be in some of them. He's not a distant or cold dr like a couple of the other reviews seem to make him. He is younger looking than you might be expecting but he has the experience. My recovery time will be much shorter thanks to him. I hope maybe this will give some of you looking for a provider a little bit better picture of the type of dr he is. Dr. Nelson delivered my first two children, and assisted in the c-section of my third. He is wonderful doctor, and I would reccomend him to anyone.
Some people expect doctors to determine what's wrong with them in 5 minutes! If that's the case, go to a fortune teller. Dr Nelson was referred to me by an ER doc at John Muir! I had difficulty finding a neurologist that can take me the same day to help with migraines headaches. Dr Nelson provided guidance to the ER doctor and when I followed up with him over the phone he was very attentive and helped me with further treatment and not once he was concerned about how he is going to get paid. Thanks Dr
Dr. Nelson is one of the few MD's who visit bedridden patients in assisted living facilities. He is very pleasant and approachable.
If you would like to be dismissed as if you are lying about your symptoms, misdiagnosed, and defamed by an inept and incredibly imperceptive person whom you're paying... then you have found your man.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
