Richard E Torkelson's Online Review Report Card

I had a total knee replacement 9 months ago by Dr. Torkelson and the knee works great! I found the office to be very helpful and courteous and enjoyed Dr. Torkelson's care and expertise.

Do not take your children here. If I could give a zero star rating I would. These physicians, or one in particular, doesn't even understand the concept of a buckle fracture... four different docs saw what this doc couldn't on an Xray... only came in for a cast... not a consult. Took it upon themselves to decide per visit note.... my kid didn't have a broken leg nor need a cast yet they were going to cast to please the parents.... Three radiologists and an Urgent Care Physician saw the break this group couldn't, simply because after 4 days in a splint he wasn't tender to touch (only with weight baring) . Now try accidental insurance reimbursement when one of the docs says its not broken... He Then proceeded to cast my child in a hyper-extended knee position making it uncomfortable all the while holding entire leg up by toes. His notes didn't mention the weight baring aspect nor the subjective info regarding previous referring doctors... Please don't go here if you can at all help it. Do not take your children here. Front desk is a pain in the butt,not helpful and gives a attitude at check in,will be turned into supervisor

Amazing doctor who actually cares. More than a number.

The other reviews don't make sense to me. Dr. Torkelson has done surgery on my hand and it was so perfect there isn't even a scar. The office does have a lot of patients because the place is so good - so yes, one must be patient sometimes, but as far as the quality of the office and the doctor, it is excellent.

Completely worthless! Seriously! Completely worthless.

He misdiagnosed a bad hip, sending me to PT for treatment for arthritis of the back and saying my hip was fine. When my pain continued to worsen I finally sought a second opinion and the doctor was appalled that my x-ray and MRI had been misread. Had hip replacement in Ft Collins and another orthopedic surgery to correct the damage done by Dr Torkelson.

Avoid this doctor and this office at all costs. The doctor doesn't give a darn about you and the staff is incompetent. They refuse to fill out paperwork or call you back when they say they will. They should lose their license.They should be reported to the A.M.A. In fact I think I will. But they will send you to collections in a heartbeat! I mailed them a check and they held on to it and sent me to collections. Even though I had 2 insurances that would have paid the bill.They get an extra $100 when they send you to collections so I guess this is why they do it. DR. needs to pad his wallet. I had 5 other bills for other services, and doctors ,E.R. etc.services at the time of my injury and I had no problem with them, only Dr. Torkelson and his office.Doctor did absolutely nothing for me except charge me huge amount for office visit. No ex-rays, prescription etc.Total waste of my time and money.I would not recommend this doctor or office to my worst enemy.Do yourself a favor and NEVER GO HERE! There are other good orthopedic doctors in Cheyenne who do care and have a competent staff. AVOID AVOID this office of non caring thieves. Avoid this doctor and this office at all costs. My son went to Dr. Torkelson for a problem with his shoulder. From the second Dr. Torkelson entered the room, he was rude - no greeting, a scowl on his face, abrupt, and seemed as if he could not wait to get out of the room - nothing even said as he left the room - as if he was in a huge hurry. We waited about 70 minutes to be seen. What is he doing with his time, if not taking the time for the patients who have waited to see him? Hugely unprofessional - unacceptable.

my left shoulder was nearly reconstructed a year ago and since then its blown out just due to instability .i arrived at his office the staff was really good at trying to straighten out my medical issues . then he came in the room was rude and disrespectful to me with my 9 monthold and 3 year old in the room . if any 1 reads this and is thinking of going to this man please do not. locate a responsible and knowledgeable surgeon
