List of Banner Surgery Center - Desert's Reviews
My experience at this center is what you want/expect in quality medical care. The staff was both professional and friendly. The facility is clean and bright.Several times I was politely asked to confirm my name, doctor and procedure: excellent protocol.I was taken to a curtained bed area. Pre-warmed blankets were laying on the bed along with a gown. I was advised to undress for my surgery and given a bag for my belongings. A few minutes later, the nurse came back in, checked on me and another nurse started an IV. I was allowed to keep my cell phone until they rolled me to the OR: it was put into a clear plastic bag, and hung from my IV pole. Before surgery, the anesthetist came in and introduced herself and my surgeon checked in as well. The anesthesia was excellent. As part of my procedure, I had to be woken up for the surgeon to check on his work. I was calm the whole time and put back to sleep quickly. I woke up refreshed and joked that I wanted that "cocktail" to take home with me.After making sure I was fully awake, I put my clothes back on and taken in a wheelchair to the pickup area. They earned 5 stars. I've had multiple surgeries over the years and this was the best overall care that I've received.Thank you Banner Desert Surgery Center staff.
I want to send a HUGE Shot Out To The Nurses at Banner Surgery Center!!! Thank You For Taking Such Good Care Of Benny During Surgery & Getting Together to Sing Him Happy Birthday!! As Busy as these Nurse's are but they still took a moment to Sing To My Son On His Birthday Meant Alot To Me & I know it made Benny Happy As Well. #Nurse'sRock #BannerRN #SurgeryDay #HBDBenny #ALilKindnessGoesAlongWay #Grateful 🙏♥️🎂💯👩⚕️
The reception (1/25/2021 lobby around 11 am) was hostile and yelled at me claiming I was loitering in her lobby. I was at the book shelf for 30 seconds looking for something to read. Had been in the center for 5 hours and was hoping to come to the lobby, pick a book and escape. Would recommend some sensitivity or customer service training. What a piece of work she is.
Evryone was great from check in to nurses.
I don't understand why this place doesn't have better reviews. On October 11th, 2021 I weren't in for hand surgery, from the moment my husband and I got their we were greeted by registration. The registration rep Yolanda WWE very professional, sweet and helpful. The pre-op nurse Terri was also very professional, kind, friendly and caring, along with Jessica the surgical tech, and Sean the OR RN. In post-op nurse Dawn was amazing, caring and understanding, she explained everything to my husband and made sure he understood. I Highly recommend this surgical center. Thank you!!
They wouldn't follow up with my doctor about insurance and two days before surgery denied my request. I work in the event industry took time off, reached out to clients about my work availability, etc just for them two tell me TWO DAYS before that they can't do my surgery. And to top it off my aunt received terrible service just a week prior to today. She has a slipped disc and can't walk and was put through bs from this hospital and was there for hours in pain. This is a must avoid hospital. Sure everyone's understaffed but now they've rearranged my entire end of year at work and personal life just because they couldn't get to the insurance fast enough. Never using Banner or Banner affiliated networks.
I went for a Lumbar Puncture that led to be being diagnosed with MS. Everyone from Reception to Check Out tried to make me feel comfortable and at ease. It's an interesting procedure the Dr. who did it was great, he realized I was a talker and just kept me talking while they took the fluid, his staff was also excellent with keeping me at ease. I was very impresses as the test was kinda scary for me and knowing that the results could be life changing didn't help with the anxiety. But I felt well taken care of the whole time.
PreOp nurses were great but not the PostOp nurse. Had a hard time coming out of the sedation and she kept thumping me on the sternum- left a bruise and swelling :( she did not go over my discharge instructions so I left with dr handwriting I can’t decipher and felt confused about my PostOp care.Nurses Jenny and Lloyd- you guys are the gems of this place.
I thought this was a good place for my eye surgery with one problem. I arrived early morning for surgery with my eye fully dialated. I had the option to complete paperwork online prior to surgery and I did so. To my dismay; however, there was even MORE paperwork to complete on the morning of my surgery. DUH! I could not read anything! I think the print was 8 or 10 pt font. It was stupidly, comically, ridiculous. I just asked the staff to identify where I should initial/sign - figuring that If I had problems, I could easily explain my issue to a jury. In other words, I think this is a huge risk management issue for you in dealing with visually impaired patients. Lucky for me, my eye surgeon is picky/demanding and the center staff followed his directives. You should enable eye surgery patients to complete ALL paperwork online and/or dedicate staff to read paperwork to patients on the day of surgery.
This place is SOOOOO RUDE! They don't go into any information! They will take your money "a co-pay" even if your insurance card says do not take money at time of service! They do less work than a fast-food worker! They won't help you with directions, even it's seriously 2 mins down the road! They only let the patient go in so don't bother bringing anyone! They have said to three patients " well I don't know who told you that" and " well that's what the computer says" and will not go any further!! I would never never come here for anything. They are a joke and so completely rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
