Banner Surgery Center - Desert

My experience at this center is what you want/expect in quality medical care.  The staff was both professional and friendly.The facility is clean and bright.Several times I was politely asked to confirm my name, doctor and procedure: excellent protocol.I was taken to a curtained bed area. Pre-warmed blankets were laying on the bed along with a gown. I was advised to undress for my surgery and given a bag for my belongings. A few minutes later, the nurse came back in, checked on me and another nurse started an IV. I was allowed to keep my cell phone until they rolled me to the OR: it was put into a clear plastic bag, and hung from my IV pole. Before surgery, the anesthetist came in and introduced herself and my surgeon checked in as well.The anesthesia was excellent. As part of my procedure, I had to be woken up for the surgeon to check on his work. I was calm the whole time and put back to sleep quickly.  I woke up refreshed and joked that I wanted that "cocktail" to take home with me.After making sure I was fully awake, I put my clothes back on and taken in a wheelchair to the pickup area.  They earned 5 stars. I've had multiple surgeries over the years and this was the best overall care that I've received.Thank you Banner Desert Surgery Center staff.

I want to send a HUGE Shot Out To The Nurses at Banner Surgery Center!!! Thank You For Taking Such Good Care Of Benny During Surgery & Getting Together to Sing Him Happy Birthday!! I don't understand why this place doesn't have better reviews. On October 11th, 2021 I weren't in for hand surgery, from the moment my husband and I got their we were greeted by registration. The registration rep Yolanda WWE very professional, sweet and helpful. The pre-op nurse Terri was also very professional, kind, friendly and caring, along with Jessica the surgical tech, and Sean the OR RN. In post-op nurse Dawn was amazing, caring and understanding, she explained everything to my husband and made sure he understood. I Highly recommend this surgical center. Thank you!!

Evryone was great from check in to nurses.

I went for a Lumbar Puncture that led to be being diagnosed with MS. Everyone from Reception to Check Out tried to make me feel comfortable and at ease. It's an interesting procedure the Dr. who did it was great, he realized I was a talker and just kept me talking while they took the fluid, his staff was also excellent with keeping me at ease.  I was very impresses as the test was kinda scary for me and knowing that the results could be life changing didn't help with the anxiety.  But I felt well taken care of the whole time.

This is the 3rd time I think I've had surgery here, and the experience is so well orchestrated.  The people in admitting greet you with a very friendly attitude, get your paperwork done very quickly.  The nursing staff is amazing.  They are so nice and organized, and very efficient.  The doctors here are truly  top notch.  Overall experience is awesome!  I felt almost like I was at a spa, well, at least till I got my IV... lol.  Love this place!

Clean and the nursing staff are very pleasant and upbeat.  If you have to have a procedure done, I highly recommend this surgery center.

I recently had out patient surgery here. They were able to do 2 separate surgeries at the same time. This ment only being put under Anastasia 1 time. My surgeons Dr Bloola and Dr. Mauser were excellent. Both are very kind and have a good sense of humor. One of the surgeries was done robotically and turned out great. Beyond the surgeons, the nursing staff was excellent and took very good care of me. They got my pain under control quickly, and were genuinely kind and caring. The Doctor that was my anistegeaolost was the best. I gave a past history of always throwing up after surgery. She gave me three things to insure I would not get sick. I did not get sick at all. I wish I could remember her name. All the Doctors and staff listened to me and explained everything.  This is the only hospital I will go to in AZ. I had a 45min drive each way and it was well worth it. Thank you all for such excellent kind care.

I recently had surgery at Banner Desert Surgery Center in October 2019. From check in to check out, the level of care I received from this center was 5 star. The rep who checked me in was super friendly and always made me feel old by calling me SIR. Lol. Professionalism top notch. The nursing staff from pre-op, OR, and post-op so professional and made me feel so comfortable throughout my visit. They were amazing and showed lots of love and care. The day after surgery, I received a call from a recovery nurse asking how I'm feeling when I informed her about my recovery following surgery, she was so caring and even offered to follow up with my surgeon on my behalf regarding a symptom and called me right back with the decision/outcome. That right there is the best care a person going through outpatient surgery should feel. Keep up the amazing job you all do there at Banner Desert Surgery Center.

I have, unfortunately had several surgeries in the past 6 months and this last one at Banner Desert Surgery Center stands out so far from the other facilities that I cannot think of words to separate them. I arrived and was registered and on a bed in approximately 8 minutes. My nurse, Judy was very energetic, happy and so welcoming. It is nearly impossible to start an IV on me, but she took one try, without poking a dozen times and painlessly started the IV. Every single person greeted me with their name, eye contact and I was told by all of the staff that they were there just to provide me with the best care. Each one asked if I had any questions or concerns. I felt as if I were their only patient!!After my surgery, my comfort and concerns were so important to the staff.There was such a lighthearted sense of humor that it was difficult to remember that I was having surgery! All of the surgical facilities I have been to have had competent staff, but I have never been to one that made me forget what I was there for, laugh, and made me want to hang around. I don't want anymore procedures, but you can be sure that if I do, I will have them at this facility.
