Annie Liu's Online Review Report Card

Dr Liu pushed me to try microneedling to help with acne scarring. I booked an appointment where in my forms indicating that I had an autoimmune disorder. Given that she did not take the time to review the forms, she proceeded to advise that the procedure was safe for me to undertake. In the following weeks that followed, I experienced an adverse reaction and severe pigmentation. I had follow-up appointments where Dr Liu advised that this ‘can happen in rare cases’ and was prescribed topical ointments to use. After a few months I was told my skin ‘is no worse than it was before the procedure’ and ‘is improving’. She made an uninformed medical decision and gaslit me about it afterwards. Undertaking micro needling on her advice was the worst thing I could have done as nearly 2 years later I still have scarring and pigmentation from the procedure and am spending an obscene amount of money trying to repair the damage she caused by not taking the time to read my file. I have since consulted another dermatologist who advised that I would NOT be a good candidate for the procedure and it would not be recommended for someone with my condition. Healthcare providers such as Dr Liu should be held accountable rather than being allowed to practise without any repercussions.

Agree with the comments below re the condescending treatment. She was pushing to buy expensive skincare products. I felt treated like an idiot; she didn't even bother to hear me out. Without exaggeration, one of the worst doctor visits I've had in years.

She has a side business of running dermcafe. She charged me a $50 late fee from an appointment from 1.5 years ago. Completely arrogant and rude. Accused me of being disruptive to her schedule from an appointment that was more than 1.5 years ago. I would not recommend this business to any of my family or friends.

I had an excellent visit with Dr. Liu. She took the time to explain to me why previous skin treatments didn't work, and recommended a different treatment that worked wonders for me. Would recommend her 100%

Annie was the worst doctor I’ve ever seen (which has been many). She was extremely arrogant, condescending and unhelpful. Not only was she rushing to finish the appointment, she got pissed and annoyed whenever I asked a valid question and basically told me off. I’ve honestly never encountered this type of entitlement, rudeness and negativity from any professional. What she recommended was also wrong and damaged my skin. I got a second opinion from another dermatologist that basically advised the opposite of what she told me to do, and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. If possible, I would give zero or negative stars for helpfulness and knowledge (particularly for her zero bedside manner). Hopefully, she will try to improve based on these comments to provide better care for future patients.

Had a great skin visit with Dr. Liu. She really helped me with problems that I've had for a long time and took time to explain why each of her treatments worked.

Excellent dermatologist. She is knowledgeable and friendly. I personally did not feel rushed at all.

This lady is the worse she won’t even assess you . In person visit waited couple months but she will rush you and only talk to you for less than five minutes. She doesn’t know anything . She’s dismissive, arrogant and very unprofessional. !!!!

I've had both virtual appointments and in person visit with Dr. Liu. I think she is personable, and very knowledgeable. Although virtual appointments always feels a little rushed, but I expected this since I have the same experience with all virtual medical appointments. I felt very comfortable with his knowledge on Asian skin. She identified all the risks and gave me different treatment options based on cost and risk level.

I've been visiting Dr. Liu for almost 2 years now and she consistently treats me with respect and patience. I enjoy my longstanding relationship with her and would recommend her to anyone!
