List of Curtis A. Raskin's Reviews
Rude, unprofessional, condescending, overcharged and didn't do his job. A full body cancer check was looking quickly at my face and arms. He told me to remove a pimple on my back would be 350.00 and was not covered by insurance. Then he charged me AND my insurance. What a jerk. If this is the best there is in town, then this is very sad.
Dr. Curtis Ruskin is the best dermatologist ever! I have had many minor skin problems as well as very serious ones. He took great care of my skin, pointed out, and surgically removed the melanoma in SITU. Now I have moved to another state. and now it is not easy to find such a great dermatologist like him!
I saw Dr Raskin this morning and had really great visit. The wait was only 10 minutes and he took so much time with me answering all my questions. He explained everything clearly and did a biopsy that didn't hurt at all. I usually can't get numb but he was able to numb me and I didn't feel anything. We even had a good laugh...nice man and put me really at ease. I've seen him a few times in the past 10 yrs and am so happy I have him as my dermatologist. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes. No complaints from me!
He talked in terms I could understand. Didn't just look at my skin and poke me with liquid nitrogen. He examined my skin and explained there was nothing that needed treatment. I had a patch on my back that I could not see and he explained what it was and there was no reason for concern. He asked lots of questions. I did not feel hustled like some of the other dermatologists I have seen.
He has really helped my teenage daughter with her skin. I'm forever grateful to see my girl have her confidence back. Lovely front desk and nurse staff as well.

This doctor is by far the RUDEST MOST UNHELPFUL doctor I've ever encountered!! I was referred for my psoriasis and left there feeling so overwhelmingly body shamed with zero help for my condition!First, the wait time is unbelievable, with zero apologies. When I was finally seen, the doctor was EXTREMELY rude. He asked why I was there and had me show him my psoriasis. I am admittedly, with no shame, overweight. The way he acted was as though he was disgusted by me, it was a very obvious and uncomfortable rudeness. He claimed that my psoriasis was so bad because of my "obesity" and that I should "Lose weight and stop scratching it" - THAT WAS IT.... No offers of medication help, no other suggestions... he was in and out of the room in about 5 minutes. Someone else mentioned how the long waits are him piling on appts for the money and I ABSOLUTELY believe that's true!!! One of the worst experiences in my life... definitely the worst "Healthcare Professional" I have ever been to. Someone needs to pull his license!
I had the visit this Jan to his office. Although I read reviews about waiting but didn't believe that can be so bad. My appointment was early afternoon and I believe that mine was the first or the second time slot in the afternoon. Then I saw 5 people waiting in the room and we seemed having the same time slot. I wondered if there was another doctors in the same office. But not and I was kind of mad if I had to wait for a long time. There are several treatment rooms and as you can expect that there were more patients ahead of me in the treatment rooms not in the waiting room. His diagnoses were different from the one I saw before. And so far after so many months my condition has not been improved. Overall my impression of this office is that the doctor is trying to overbook and make money.
Visited Dr. Raskin for a brown spot on my nose. His nurse asked me to undress so he can examine my body for skin cancer, which he did not do, She gave me paper sheets to cover my body. I had a lesion removed in 2003, he looked at my nose sprayed it and told me it is not cancerous, he did not check any other area. When leaving, I asked his office to give me report on my visit, which stated that the brown spot is called Actinic Keratoses and to avoid sun. He spent very little time with me with no other advise. I waited more than 15min with no cloth on, draped with paper covering, he did not examine me as his nurse mentioned. What a wasted visit.
Dr. Raskin sent my biopsy to an out of my insurance network lab in another city rather than to John Muir's recommended lab resulting in an extra $250. bill to me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
