Dr. Ip removed my surgical pins from my finger today, and I couldn’t be more grateful for his professionalism and care! He was incredibly friendly, reassuring, and knowledgeable about my injury even though I got the actual operation elsewhere. You can tell this man knows his stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Ip for your orthopedic needs, ESPECIALLY for hand-related breakages. 5/5 stars!

would give him 0 stars if I could. his bedside manner was horrible, I am 14 years old and went to see him for a severe wrist injury. Not only did he misdiagnose my injury but insulted me by saying I wasn’t reliable enough to go through with the surgery. He then sent us home. When we contacted him later, he rudely announced he would not do the surgery. His behavior towards me caused me a great deal of anxiety and distress. My dad took me to a wonderful and compassionate surgeon, Dr Shin. He properly diagnosed my wrist injury and performed extensive surgery on my wrist. Not only was I a reliable patient, but the surgery was beautifully done and I am recovering quite nicely. thank goodness I did not let this doctor operate on me. Please be careful before you take your children to see this doctor. I have not only proved him wrong, but I was courageous enough to go through a very complicated surgery. I am very proud of myself and have proven doctor Ip drastically wrong. I hope one day I will receive an apology from dr Ip for the way he treated me.

The daily email contact was terrific as the guidelines were appropriate for my surgery. When I posted a question, the response was directed to my personal question.

I called after 20 minutes waiting on the phone just to make an appointment just right after they opened in the morning. I'll look elsewhere!! I should have saved some time by looking at the reviews.

My experience with Dr. Ip has been, and continues to be a very positive experience. He is friendly, he listens, and treats you with respect. His nurses and staff have been great too. All of it important to me.Recently, he performed an out-patient carpal tunnel release surgery on my left hand and wrist.Dr. Ip, Dr. Petrie, his anesthesiologist, and the nurses that assisted with the procedure were excellent, and "attitude" is everything.One more comment. I have never seen such a thorough "follow-up" care after any procedure or surgery. Almost daily. Who does that?Dr. Ip does that.Thank you.Bill Eddy

I had a horrible experience with Dr.Ip. His bedside manner is atrocious. I would not recommend him to my friends or family. I will not return to him.

Absolutely terrible experience. I was referred to him by one of the Drs in the Newport Orthopedic facility. Waited for 50 mins. Dr comes in, spends less than 5 mins and says let me come back with the referral details to another Dr. Sends the med assistant. When I asked I have more questions, Med asst comes back with some some answers and thats it. You may leave. All in all this place is all about your next appointment. They dont focus on your well being. They only focus when you come back for the next appt. I would totally avoid this place.

Dr. Ip does not believe in practicing social distancing. Spend 20 minutes filling out paperwork online to streamline the check-in process and minimize the wait in the doctor’s office. When I showed up, the office was crowded. After ten minutes, the receptionist informed me the doctor was backed up and that there were four patients ahead of me. I Cancelled the appointment and would not go back.

I presented with ‘Trigger Thumb’ a most painful condition! The alternative Thumb had the same issue the previous year which was repaired - but by the ER not a hand Specialist, and was a little Chaotic. Dr. Ip, M.D. explained only 2 Cortisone injections can be given and they being 30 days apart - if not completed such damage To the hand can be severe. I asked Doctor IP - what further help can be offered if the first and second Cortisone injections failed. His positive answer as I would need to undergo Surgery. As appears common with health conditions for me, my body just could not resolve with the two injections- I required surgery. Surgery was arranged and when I came to from Anesthesia (I had expected a simple freezing of the site) no more pain. Being immunocompromised I had to be totally compliant with Doctors orders to avoid infection. Two weeks later bandages OFF/Stitches removed I again have full control of the entire hand. Thank You Doctor Ip.
