Edit: I've stayed with the office & things have improved for me. I haven't had issues getting in & when sick, they offer tele-health visits. I'm giving more stars now because Dr. Newburg does respect patient choices, has been seeing me in a timely manner during my visits, & is very personable. Tbh, nothing outstanding has come to my attention & it's been pretty basic care / advice. Plus, even though my partner doesn't usually accompany me during my visits, it's a big deal to know that the office does allow him in with me. *end edit*Want to pay an OB office without ever seeing an OBGYN? Want to continuously get your appointments rescheduled by the office staff? This is the office for you! Three times they've rescheduled or attempted to reschedule me & I'm only in my second trimester. The first time, I got rescheduled with an NP & it sounded like the doc had a surgery coming up on my scheduled day. The 2nd time, they schedule me, then call back days before saying for unknown reason, the doctor won't be in the office that day & reschedule me. Then I get a call asking if I can reschedule again... though this time it is not mandatory, it's just going to be an "extra long wait since she's booked up that day". Very unprofessional. They are the ones doing the scheduling. Why is this constantly an issue? In addition to this, I receive a bill for a potential estimate with a billing phone number listed. I call that number, get told no, not here & transfered. Again told, not here, here's the real number. Call that number, get told, not here, call the first number you called...& tell them that it IS them. I do, then get told to call the OBGYN office directly. I do. I got the number for billing & end up in the same place! Hang up, call the office directly again. They check with the office manager who says I can pay that bill in office. If it's only for the office & nothing to do with billing (?), because billing has zero clue about this letter, then why do they provide the wrong phone number? I spent 65 minutes getting the run around just to find out about the letter with due date for money owed, yet not service rendered. It's just so unprofessional & disappointing.
I have had the worst treatment of my life from Dr. Newburg and staff. When I arrived for my first appointment, I waited two hours until finally someone told me they made a mistake and she wasn’t even in the building. When I came back a second time, which is a hour trip each way, she took only a couple minutes to speak with me. She probed me way too aggressively, which was awful because of a muscle spasming problem I have, and didn’t even do the further examination my general doctor had requested. She broke sensitive news to me by passing lightly over the diagnosis, and when I said no one had told me about this diagnosis, her words were “oh, oops...well there you go.” She didn’t answer any of my questions, and was out before I could even think straight. I tried numerous times for months to call their office and dispute the outrageous bill amount for 5 minutes of hell, and they sent me to a collection’s agency. I just turned 22, I’m still a young adult, I’m not used to the medical system, and this office has made me feel used and worthless. Why would you do this to someone who is experiencing multiple illnesses and is scared? I came to this office in a time of need and all they saw me as was dollar signs.
I've had the opportunity to be seen by Dr. Newburg spoken with her PA and a wonderful gal on the phone, Margarita. All of my experience has been helpful, compassionate and dignified. For a busy office they always seem to have time for me and my concerns and questions. They make the time to call me with updates and are always cheerful. I'm glad this is my team.
Dr. Newburg is very caring, attentive, and competent. Her office staff, however, is atrocious. I have been put on hold multiple times for 20-30 minutes before speaking to a human being, which is really stressful when dealing with serious health issues. I’ve been to much busier offices whose receptionists handle phone calls in a much more timely manner. Dr. Newburg is a five-star doctor who frankly needs better staff.
Dr Hannah attended my labor. She is awesome and her nurse was so patient letting me try pushing to deliver the baby normally. Mine was a complicated case that should have ended up in C-section. But thankfully I delivered my baby in the normal way. I thank God Almighty and wish all the very best to her and the nurse
She listened to me. She was very interested in what I was saying.
