Very unprofessional and unpleasant service with this office. I was referred here by Care in the Community and had to report the lack of service to the VA. This office led me to lapses in medication withdrawals that were life altering. I am disappointed in the care that is supposed to help us, not hurt us.

The women at directory barely ever answer the phone. It's COMPLETE bs that you have to go through them just to get an urgent message to your doctor. Why are unresponsive people in charge of when you need to urgently contact your doctor? Absolutely ridiculous. It could be done through the portal but NO instead you have to wait and wait until someone decides to do their job and answer the phone. ALMOST AN HOUR LATER I FINALLY GET A REPSONSE AND ITS LIKE THEYVE DECIDED TO OUTSOURCE TO PEOPLE WHO DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING. Dr. Curtis is kind and tries to help but she can only get so far when the people who dictate if you can get in contact do NOT EVEN THE BASICS OF THEIR JOB. Don't bother with them, God forbid you have an emergency.

It was easy for me to set up an appointment and I had no problem with telehealth. However, I thought Dr. Ajanaku was cold and not very caring.

If you're looking for a local psychiatrist, move on - their 144 N Lake Ave Ste 800 Pasadena address is a "virtual office" they presumably use to have their doctors show up as local options through your insurance though they only do telehealth (it's listed as their "Pasadena clinic" on their website which is just straight-up lying! In fact a little Googling has shown me that most or all of their "clinic" addresses are virtual addresses, with nobody from CPS actually working from any of them). Because this was not disclosed my pharmacist gave me a hard time when trying to refill my Adderall prescription as access to in-person appts is still required to keep that script - news to me that Dr. Ajanaku's office is listed as being located in Walnut Creek near San Francisco! So I'm actually forced to find a new doctor as the pharmacy refuses to continue fulfilling my prescription due to this. (This is annoying but not the worst thing ever - Dr. Ajanaku is a terrible doctor who shows up late to every appt and treated me like a pill-seeking drug addict for wanting to continue with my prescription of six years. Really unpleasant person.) CPS also has a godawful support system - there is no patient portal or any way to message your doctor directly, you literally have to call the office and wait on hold for several minutes before verbally relaying your message to a person who writes it down and then sends it to the doctor in question. When I brought up to the receptionist that this seemed unnecessarily labyrinthine, she snottily explained that they don't give out doctor's "personal information" as if I was asking to text her cell phone number at 2am rather than just needing to message my doctor about a PRESCRIPTION for her to respond to during business hours. Their system, not shockingly, works horribly - I called with an urgent prescription request (insurance issue, going out of town soon as my doctor knew well) on a Friday morning at 9:30am and did not hear anything back for days. I had to call again the following Tuesday to practically beg their message-taker to communicate the urgency of my request and get the matter taken care of. After doing the work to fix my life and mitigate my anxiety I have experienced more anxiety caused directly by dealing with this doctor and this medical group in the past three months than I had in the three previous years. This group is not located in the offices they say they are. If you're searching for a doctor in California and anyone at CPS shows up as an option I would advise you to keep on searching - when a medical group is lying from the jump there's nowhere to go but even further down.

My first attempt at an appointment, the office called two days before to tell me Dr. Ajanaku wasn't available and so they pushed my appointment out a week. My second attempt at an appointment the dr was 45 minutes late and we therefore didn't have enough time for what should have been an hour long appt, so we had to reschedule again. My third appointment I waited for 30 minutes and she never showed. I couldn't reach the office because they were closed as it was a Saturday. The doctor had promised me on the prior call that if she had any issues or was going to be late she would call me directly. That did not happen. I would absolutely not put my mental health care in the hands of such a disorganized office / doctor. The delays in the appointments caused me to run out of medication. Thankfully my primary care doctor refilled my existing medication for me in the meantime, but I am in need of new medication options and this has delayed the process.

Initially, I had informed the intake coordinator or front desk that I did not want to fill out paperwork or set an appointment until the insurance was verified. I ended up getting a call letting me know they were a covered provider and decided to move forward with setting up an appointment and completing the paperwork. I’m disappointed with the lack of due diligence to verify insurance adequately so that I didn’t have to wait a month to be told that the Telehealth appointment is not covered with the insurance for my daughter’s mental health care. It’s unprofessional business practices.

Be careful to use this clinic. I keep receiving a bill for the missed appointment fee $150, but the appointment was cancelled 2 days before the appointment date. The billing department was notified the mistake, but the bill keeps coming. It seems this medical/mental health group trying to scam their clients.
