I never felt wanted. I stayed a year and then left. I can tell that several of the people there didn't like me. One of the people saw me as an angry person and the worst thing that can happen to a client is to be seen as someone negative and not nice to be around. Last thing I wanted to be was that so I left. Let them have their nice place without me.
I'm going to miss coming here. I was admitted here between October of 2023 till about now of 2024. I hope the month is posted on here. It was around May that I left. I tried to tell the desk people that I thought my phone was being blocked. The reason I thought it was being blocked was because I could get through to the desk only from another phone they didn't have on file. I can't prove it for sure that my phone was blocked but I was very suspicious that's what happened. I also picked up that the drivers were very unhappy with me because they kept missing me. I didn't like them being angry with me so much because I did try to wait for them to pick me up and take me home. On my admission Day I almost missed my admission because the driver didn't show up. When I came in after self transporting, they seemed angry with me. I don't know if that's why they blocked my phone but I didn't feel like that was very professional of them to do that and they denied that they blocked my phone. I still don't know if they actually did that but I was wondering all the time because I kept getting busy signals and I kept being thrown back to the system and I was afraid they weren't answering the phone. The thing is I never got through to them on the phone from my phone number. That's all I'm going to bring up. I've complained about a bunch of other things to their face. And nothing's changed. I hope things will improve so that you will not hear any more of these reviews from other clients. If you want to keep a client please treat them right. Or at least make them feel like they're wanted here! Thanks.
I have had the experience of having a loved one hospitalized at API and be treated in their intensive outpatient program and have been a client of their outpatient trauma and mental health intensive therapy. In both the care and compassion of the inpatient hospital staff and the full service outpatient program which includes transportation to and from home if needed, API truly lived up to their reputation for exemplary patient services and effective personalized care. Thank you API for saving lives and making them worth living .
Ba offered wonderful costumer service!
My partner of 21 years, was at API for 4 weeks . When she was discharged they failed to give her iPhone and prescription glasses . I've been patient, at least 4times I tried to resolve and get are property back , with no avail. Just getting the runaround. I filled out a missing property report there , and was never contacted with a resolution or explanation. I know that the head nurse was responsible for taking are iPhone and prescription glasses and not returning them. Being on a small fixed income, financially has recked us . Replacing the iPhone and prescription glasses and frames, has broken are bank and spirits. I'm sure they would not like haven there phone and eyesight taken from them. One week and know results. Legal action against API in my next step. I will update my review of API as soon as they do the right and honest thing.
My brother went to API on University Avenue for about 5 years and benefitted from the socialization and the convenience of meeting with his psychiatrist once a month. Suddenly, on a Monday, a few weeks ago, I was told by a staff member that he was "graduating" from the program and that Wednesday was his last day. His psychiatrist would no longer be prescribing his psychotropic medicines leaving us in a real bind and scrambling to find a psychiatrist who takes medicare/medical. I'm feeling gobsmacked over this whole thing. We've been abandoned by a program we counted on for my brother's care. I feel they were just looking for a way to cut him loose with the graduation ploy.
Pick up someone, tell them I sent you
Hello, I was at outpatient 5 years ago downtown San Diego with Lindsey who helped me very much. Unfortunately,it's closed & I have no idea if she's still with API. If anyone that reads this & could you please pass this on to her please! Thank you Lisa 👍❤️😁
Useless. The psychiatrist never helped the patients truly. My loved one came here for treatment and wanted to be treated & LEARN how to improve their mental health, yet was given a sandwich and the psychiatrist put on a movie …. This isn’t day care. People come here to get helped, not ignored. The other times he came were useless as well. Never received quality care at all. False advertising.
These people don't care about the current pandemic. People coughing everywhere and not covering their mouths. Stay away.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
