Unfortunately I will say that I had the worse experience at Mercy. I was very sick, dehydrated, couldn’t stand up any more do to Sever vomiting. The health workers the Nurse name lazy in the ER department horrible and rude, beside me waiting outside for almost 7 hrs yes 7 hrs wait. I was treated rude, she bend my finger to try to make a fist when I have RA, can’t fold my finger anymore. I was pocked 8 times to try to find a vain for a catéter and since I refuse to get more ppl to pocked me the Nurse discharge me without allowing me to finishing getting the fluids on my body she kick me out without even speaking to any doctor!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE NEVER AGAIN!
Absolutely the worst we experience! The nurses were brief and they all talkeddown to me like I was stupid. Went in for chest pain and 7 hours later. Still in pain.
NEGLECT!!! I was forced kept waiting for 3 hours outside the hospital even though I was informing that I was tested negative for covid. After 3 hours, in the cold, I left because my health condition that was got worse. I had high blood pressure, chest pain and shortness of breath.
Absolutely the worst service, my father who is physically disabled and was in need to have his gallbladder removed, but we waited for over 3 hours and they didn’t see him. They basically told us that we had to wait outside in 50 degree while it was raining that whole time and he was in excruciating pain but they would not send him in because they were busy which I would understand if there was a lot of people in the lobby yet there was maybe 3 people there besides us. It’s a joke to call this place a emergency room since they don’t care about their patients and are more then willing to let us sit out in the rain and cold without any care if his already deteriorated health got worse. I don’t know who taught these people bedside manner but they need a refresher course on it.
Absolute disgrace of a hospital. They had my disabled father-in-law waiting outside in the 50° weather to be admitted while he is in debilitating pain. The main nurse that checked him and appeared to be of Asian descent and was absolutely rude. There is a man waiting outside since 6:30 we had arrived around 6 and we left around 8:30 p.m. still not being admitted. The beds in the hospital are not full, I know people that work on the inside, and was physically able to get pictures and see beds open. Do not take your sick loved one to this hospital they may not leave. Do not forget this is San Diego where takes nothing to get a degree half of these nurses did not know their own Hospital policy. Will be looking into this further and filing formal complaints.
the level I in was there for almost 6 hours .. I have to say those training nurses or students nurses shm .. they was loud be honest.. one them nurses was wrapped in her waist a sheet wth .... really .. the need more improvement hospital should quiet ppl staff should be friendly to all the patients.....
Probably my worst experience at a hospital. Went to the emergency room due to numbing/swelling of my face, left with no diagnosis but charged over $1k for ‘emergency services’. And by ‘emergency services’, I mean getting my temperature and blood pressure checked. When the doctor did come around, they looked at my face, asked a few questions, and told me to go home and come back if it didn’t get better. Right, come back so they could charge me another $1k for ‘emergency services’. I wouldn’t wish this experience to my worst enemy.Similar to a previous reviewer, I was sent 2 bills. One from Scripps, and another from Pacific Emergency Providers. The bill for Pacific Emergency Providers states that their bill is for the doctor, which is separate from the hospital, since the doctor is not employed by Scripps. So while Scripps charged me for supplies/equipment/techs/nurses (temperature and blood pressure check), Pacific charged me for a 10min visit with a doctor who couldn’t give me a diagnosis and wanted me to come back. No thanks.I’ll just stay home and take some tylenol the next time I think I need to go to the ER.
AN I TOLD YOU SO WARNING! The security is the most unprofessional employees Ive ever come across in my life. The fact that managment doesnt hold Melissa the head of Security more responsible is mind-blowing. The response I received from her didnt address the issues I brought up and was the most narcissistic unprofessional letter! Be careful this is a dangerous place!
Staff was unprofessional. They were laughing about my medical condition and being rude to patients. Made some unprofessional comment like “is it a full moon or something” just extremely rude and doesn’t give an attention to there patients it was the worst hospital experience I had
I loved their nurses care we just had our new born baby girl today at 1:46 am everyone has been really nice. We loved all the staff working here. I also had a question? If my other half is here showering is their a way that I can take a shower as well. Or just the patients being treated here?
I had to visit this facility due to unfortunate circumstances at the end of September. The front entrance staff, which I think included nurses, took EXCELLENT care of my niece when I had to go back into the ER room area to help my sister. It was a chaotic morning with a ton of tears and those lovely people made sure my niece was not only well taken care of but had breakfast (chocolate because it was close to Halloween of course), a tour of the first floor, a mask, apple juice, lots of opportunities to color then share her drawings, let her show them puppy pictures on their work computers, and she was all grins when I met back up with her. She was so happy I felt bad asking to take her back with me. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and trustworthy group of professionals that day and I thank them constantly. The compassion and professionalism they gave us all that day is the best and made a world of difference for us. Thank you again!
I was visiting CA and went in with a suspected UTI, in misery. Was given great care by everyone there, tests were done promptly. Care was taken to make sure I was comfortable, despite many others waiting at the ER.I was given the results in a timely manner, with a very professional explanation.Highly recommend.
Scripps has been kind and helpful to me. I appreciate it very much.
Scripps Mercy is a mess. All this garbage in front of their property has been there for weeks. Also; the security department taughts the homeless and to make fun and make each other laugh. They also make harass neighbors and the the supervisor Melissa will response with the most narcissistic response not dealing with the issues at hand. I warned you Scripps Mercy doesnt care for patients. GO TO UCSD HOSPITALS!!!
Bad Service 👎
Bad people working on this Hospital!
My first time at Scripps Mercy and I will never go back to Scripps La Jolla, what a world of a difference. Went in to the ER by ambulance, first off it started with the EMTS two best guys I could have to pick me up. One named S.Hayes and the other Lofton, they helped keep me calm when I couldn't stop crying because I was scared and I was embarrassed that I was taking up their ambulance space. From there on out all of the staff at Scripps Mercy was very professional I never felt like I was inconveniencing anyone like I've been made to feel at others. The medical team got me into surgery as soon as they could and the post op care was great, the Nurses and Doctors were very professional and very attentive to my needs. I was recommended to come here as I had other choices and I'm glad I did, will definitely recommend to others.
My brother suffered a brain aneurysm about 10 years ago. He got great care at Scripps Mercy Hospital the doctors they're saved his life. Taking a couple stars off because they missed a fracture in my mom's pelvic bone with CT scan.
I visited the ER for hernia. It’s totally idioticotic to have people wait in a waiting room with the AC blasting. While in pain and miserable, they add insult to your injuries having set there freezing and shivering promoting catching a cold. I ask for a blanket from one of the ER nurses and got a snotty attitude “we don’t give out blankets. I sat down in one of the waiting room chairs next to the window with the sun shinning on me to warm me up. Security told me to gwt out of the section I was in, stating I could not set there. no signage saying so. I walked out to go home where I can be warm, take my own pain med, and eat sleep in confront. I didn’t feel welcome… hostile enviorment. Make sure you ware a warm coat when visiting the ER Ice box.
This is such a terrible place - you'll find no compassion here.
