I’m one of the patients of Mindful Health Solutions and my experienced to them a thumbs up 👍.and 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ratings .
A level of unprofessionalism that makes you wonder how they're allowed to work with suicidal people. Have had a long history with this place... Many bad experiences. They seem to lose paperwork and even forget appointments. Psychiatrists push patients with depression (like me) to get TMS to an uncomfortable degree, to the point of an infomercial for it playing while on hold for Zoom telehealth appointments. After 5 suggestions to get on TMS from my psychiatrist, I told him to knock it off because it really made me angry that he never seemed to listen. The final straw for me was when I had an intake appointment for Spravato (esketamine therapy). I wait 20 mins in the lobby, then ask when I'll be seen by Doctor so-and-so. They say that doctor is not working that day. WTF? I explain my situation, that I took time off work for this. They say they'll connect me with another provider via Zoom. They then direct me to an empty meeting room and tell me to sit and connect to a Zoom link they'll text me. This room is EMPTY. Again, WTF? What if I didn't bring a phone/laptop with me? The alternative provider finally connects and is totally caught off guard, not expecting to speak with me. He doesn't have anything planned. The meeting is awkward and I feel worse than when I entered. I highly suggest to anyone looking to start with MHS: search elsewhere!! Go to your insurance's site and find providers anywhere else! It is NOT worth it to try to have them handle your mental health because they will likely make it worse before it gets even close to better.
I couldn’t believe how fast after contacting them it was for my telehealth consult, getting a prior authorization from my insurance, to starting TMS. I had my first session 7 days after I initially called to get more information about TMS.
Dr. Filip is the most caring, thorough, warm, wonderful and intelligent psychiatrist I’ve ever known. I look forward to my calls with her every appointment. She not only knows psychiatry but has a wealth of knowledge for just about any medical situation you’re potentially encountering. She coached me through hip replacement surgery, made sure the meds they administered didn’t clash with the meds I’m on for depression. Most do not catch that! I recommend her HIGHLY!
I have been a patient here for a very long time. Back all the way when they were Done. I always felt they were amazing providers that would stand up for their patients but I was horrendous wrong. I went in to put my refill request in yesterday. I was then called an hour later and asked if I was on a specific med, I dont lie. I said yes. I was told due to policy change they can't fill it unless I get off that med. I cannot get off it, its my pain medication. Now, im a logical human being, I understand policy change and im very involved in the medical community. Law community too. When we have a policy change thats going to affect patient, we tell them IMMEDIATELY, in email, with the policy change. If that policy change puts that patient in a bad situation, we give one more refill to get them through. This is the medical standard. Not what they are doing. I tried explaining this. I begged them to do the right thing by me and every other patient affected. They have now refused. They have not send back my money for the month either. So, they want to tell me refill day there's a problem, do nothing to work it out whatsoever and then want to keep my money on top of it! Wild. Talk about ethically and now morally wrong? Unfortunately, im im the middle of writing a book. Its about how severe chronic child abuse causes brain damage and how that brain damage causes a lifelong situation of problems physically and mentally. How most of these patients are then treated like drug addicts. Innocent patients, with Real health problems. See, we have a serious problem in America today. Providers are so afraid of the FDA and DEA that they cower in a corner instead of doing what is right and standing up for their patients. The innocent continue to pay. When the government decided we had an opiod epidemic there was approx 6,500 deaths that year. Many many years later the rate in 2023 was approx 178k. NOW, we have a true epidemic. Who has paid? The innocent. It was never legitimate pain patients that were dying from opiods. It was doctors that made a ton of money writing them to people that didnt medically need them. They make up the prescription opiod deaths. Not true pain patients. Yet we are the only ones that have continued to pay. We see how thats worked. We went from 6,500 to over 175k easy, in 2023. That number has only risen. Yet here we are. Once again, im paying. I unlike many other patients that take it and lay down with no fight will continue fighting for the innocent for the rest of my life. I tried the other way for 10 years. It got me nowhere. Once I stared really barking, now im on multiple government boards and writing a book. I have a section naming every decent establishment that cares about ALL their patients and a list that discriminates against patients. Mindful was on the positive list. They have been moved. Especially, after I tried working with them in a logical and fair way. Now they refuse, took my money and I cant even get into my account. If you are on any pain medication or suboxone which lol they want to pretend is ONLY written for heroin adduction. I cant. I really cant. Suboxone has been pushed down the throats of thousands and thousands of pain patients. Its written off label for pain every day for a long time. Expect to be kicked off and treated like a criminal. They still have not emailed me this updated policy either. Im questioning if it even exists now. I was put to a new provider and this happened immediately. They got paid though. If you are part of the pain community, or you have a loved one part of it. Find a new provider. They are discriminating against us.
Nothing but good things to say about this group! They feel like family!
Michael Nguyen is my favorite he is the best and has helped me tremendously.
I have been taking Spravato at this clinic for at least 2 years now and this review is also for current patients who are on the fence about leaving or who are struggling to transition to a new clinic. Long story short, if you are thinking of receiving care at this clinic, please consider them as a last resort. If you are already a patient, keep receipts and a paper trail of all the interactions you've had in case you decide to leave or report them to the medical board. I have gone through 3 providers, all of whom have barely worked there for a year. The same goes for the technicians who have told me directly about the mistreatment they receive from the company, although to be fair, some of them may have already planned to only stay there temporarily (the high turnover rate should have already been a red flag). There have been several/countless times I have been incorrectly charged due to their lack of oversight, and I had to be the one to notice and speak up about it. Yes, they offer healthcare services and they are a clinic meant to help you, but their actions and history seem to highlight more the fact they are a company trying to make a profitable business. Over the course of the 2+ years, I had moments where I was in remission/improved, but also regressed and became worse due to some of their negligent practices and unstable workflow. The blame can't be placed on specific staff or providers, but if everyone is enabling/using the incompetent system, why do the patients have to take it? The lack of communication and unkept promises are horrifying. If they say they will do something, make them say it in writing. If they are saying reasons why they couldn't get a refill, book an appointment, or anything that deters your care, request a statement from them or anything that would leave a paper trail. I would even go further and have evidence that show that they received what you said so that they can't deny they weren't aware. I understand if you think that's too much, and ultimately, it is your decision what you want to do. The big message I'm trying to deliver is that you need to make sure you are receiving the care you deserve and requested, and if their actions have delayed/prevented care, they can be reported to the medical board. If they have recently messed up or delayed/prevented care, that is a chance for you to switch clinics while still being covered by insurance. Of course, every insurance is different, but it is a more robust case if you are switching clinics because MHS couldn't provide the care you needed. If it was only a situation in the past and they are currently delivering you appropriate care at the appropriate timing, that is less of an urgent case. Here are some more specific things I noticed within their workflow. Keep in mind their workflow may change as this review gets older and this is what I have been told verbally and through my own situation. Firstly, when they book an appointment for you, more often than not they do not write the specific provider when they first book it or when it's still a few days before it occurs. They are happy to verbally tell you upon booking it, but it is not common practice to omit the specific provider you'll see in writing. In my personal experience, there have been countless times they had to reschedule due to lack of oversight (ex, the provider was not in the office on that day in the first place) and/or how too many things are up in the air/not set in stone. The front desk and the Spravato technicians have different levels of authority in scheduling patients, and their workflows are incompatible to the point of preventing timely care for me. Additionally, their billing department is separate from the front desk and the billing system they use is mostly automatic (which was why the front desk would/could overlook the invalid charges they approved). Finally, this is only speculation, but there seems to be a lack of sufficient support for the technicians, providers, and front desk. Technicians do not receive adequate support from all parties (in some cases I've seen they do not receive proper pay), providers are at the mercy of the clinic they work for, and the front desk is not educated/trained enough to handle the responsibilities they may not even be aware of (and I believe the many reviews that highlight their lack of empathy towards patients and being unable or reluctant to help). In conclusion, the people who work at the clinic are human, but patients are humans too who come to you for help. They go to you in their vulnerable state and as a healthcare service, they have an ethical/moral duty to not only provide the support they advertise but also to be mature enough/not greedy to say they are unable to provide the care you ask for and let you go. They will keep brushing things off if you let them, even things that they could get reported for by the Medical Board of California.
The administration is awful and unresponsive, I frequently had to request multiple times for a refill of my medication because it was not submitted. Recently, my psych went on long term leave and their admin did not notify me until my prescription was not refilled, at which point they made me jump through hoops with a covering psych to get the prescription. Two months later, they told me I needed to find a new psych office because they did not know when my doctor was coming back. They did not make a recommendation or offer me a different doctor, and cancelled all of my future appointments, and then did not refill my medication. They once forgot I was on a medication and didn't refill it or bring it up again for 5 months. They do not care about their patients and improperly guided me through getting off of a medication, leading to brain zaps.
