List of Khuu Dermatology's Reviews
The doctor intentionally spreads out your care so he can charge as much as possible. What should have been a single visit turned into over 5 visits and that way they could charge more. Not to mention the giant waste of time. Also have to mention having to wait at least 20 minutes to be seen each time I visited. Of course my insurance doesn't cover it all so it falls to the patient. Go somewhere where they care about you, not just your money.
Dr Khuu is not very friendly or caring about his patient's feelings! My husband was seen there and needed to have a skin biopsy done. Dr. Khuu gave him a shot to numb him but instead of waiting a few minutes for the drug to kick in he started scraping his skin right after giving the shot and then cauterized the wound right after leaving my husband yelping in pain. It was pure torture on my husband and myself! And all Dr. Khuu had to say was "I gave you the shot, it doesn't hurt"! Then when we went back for a follow up, they wouldn't see him because we didn't have the insurance information in hand. They could have seen him and either billed me later, or let us get the insurance information to them later. My husband actually ended up having skin cancer but they didn't care because they weren't getting paid! It shows in his profile pictures that he cares more about going on trips with his partner, on his suffering patients dimes, than for their care which is probably why it takes months to be seen by him. Also, the front desk staff is either overworked or don't care either because they refused to let him see the Dr. without proper insurance information. The whole office staff was very unfriendly and unprofessional! I would not go back to them!!
Dr. Khuu is the worst doctor I have ever met. Unbelievably unprofessional. He treated me as if I was beneath him. He did not care for what I have to express, then continuously cut me off mid conversation. It was an awful doctor visit.
Never ever ending visit. They've been healing my lips for more than 1 year and still no improvement. Kept asking to come back and check up by giving new medication. And for my hand, they pointed their finger to another specialist doctor, saying it's under their care. But the other specialist said skin problem is for dermatology not us, which I agree. They also took skin patches from my leg to test out and left a huge scar. When asked, said this could be happened. I'm gonna give up. This makes no sense. It's obvious they want money.
This review is mainly for how great their biller Jamie is. I had a bill due to claims and was worried about it and took care of it. Turns out I overpaid and they still sent me a statement. Jamie was able to locate my payment and kept good contact with me. Jamie assured me that things will work out and it did. Thank you Jamie for helping me out the whole way.
Disgusting. Terrible service. I was looking forward to finally finding a dermatologist. I called, asked if my insurance was accepted and confirmed it was. Waited weeks for the appointment only to be told upon arrival that my insurance was actually OUT of network despite being told it was in network because I purchased it through Covered California. To be frank, the receptionist had an attitude for absolutely no reason. I'm so disappointed in this service and how I was treated. She acted like it was my fault and didn't apologize for the inconvenience whatsoever. It's moments like these I'm thankful I'm not giving this place my business.
Beware of Unethical Practices - Not Worth Your Time or Money I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Dr. Duke Khuu. My interactions with him have been nothing short of disheartening, revealing a pattern of unethical practices that compelled me to find another dermatologist. Firstly, I was coerced into purchasing three of his exclusive skin care products, totaling close to $500. He insisted these products were beneficial to my skin, and in good faith I believed him and purchased these products. Shockingly, these products not only failed to deliver promised results but caused severe irritation to my skin within two weeks. He then instructed me to stop using his skin products immediately for the sever irritation they had made on my skin. When I sought a refund, I was met with outright refusal, with Dr. Khuu claiming his products were non-refundable. This exploitative behavior left me both financially and physically distressed. Furthermore, Dr. Khuu demonstrated a disturbing approach to billing. He insists on charging patients a significant upfront fee for office visits and requires them to sign an agreement acknowledging this charge before submitting the remaining fee to insurance. This strategy, coupled with exorbitant fees, leaves patients with bills insurance won't cover, placing an unnecessary burden on their finances. What became abundantly clear to me during my time with Dr. Khuu is that he views his patients merely as a means to boost his own income. The disregard for ethical treatment, coupled with a profit-centric attitude, tarnishes the integrity of his practice. In conclusion, I strongly caution anyone seeking dermatological care to steer clear of Dr. Khuu and his office in Mountain view and San Jose. His dubious practices and prioritization of financial gains over patient well-being make him an unsuitable choice for anyone seeking genuine, ethical healthcare.
Amazing experience, called last minute for an appointment Nathan was gracious and was able to help me find one. Everyone I dealt with during the appointment was kind and efficient, kept me updated as the clinic was fairly busy. Follow up has been excellent, received an call on Sat with update on some tests and prescription was sent promptly. Can't say enough good things about my overall experience.
I had a 3:40 pm appointment. The doctor finally met me 5 once the office closed. I came in for a peel but he said since the office is already closed now they can't do the peel. But they still took 20 dollars copay for seeing the doctor. This was such a scam and waste of time. I do NOT recommend this derma at all.
I see a doctor for an annual skin checkup. Paid $25 for office visits. The doctor didn't do anything except to check the skin, not even the spots that should be removed. In the end, I wsa asked to pay an additional $80. This is completely inconsistent with the insurance company's charging terms. This is an arbitrary charge. People who ask to see a doctor should beware of the phenomenon of doctors charging indiscriminately.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
