Unfortunately More stopped accepting my Anthem PPO insurance in the middle of my treatment for nerve compression and shoulder pain. Either I pay fully out of pocket or choose another provider. Trying to find another provider in September is an impossible feat. I feel right the thing to have done would have been to grandfather in those existing patients so they are suddenly out of critical care for no reason within their control. Existing patients should not turned away from care they need. Appreciate your time, Mylene
Gary Kang has been incredible. He provided invaluable assistance during my recovery from a broken ankle. Thank you so much, Gary!
Type of care and quality both, family has used this several times and always came out with great results.
I took my 82 year old mom to More physical therapy at 800 embeded way (inside club sport) in San Jose. I've taken her to multiple physical therapy sessions in the bay area on and off over the past 25 years and I have to say this one was best by far. The physical therapist, Ashwini Velankar is simply outstanding. She is knowledgeable, Patient, kind and could communicate really well with my aged mother who felt so comfortable with her. The facility is clean and looks very nice. The support staff were very friendly. Simply great!
Was referred to MORE PT by former team physician for the SF Giants and SJ 'Quakes. I've had forearm/elbow pain consistent with Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), as well as RSI from computer use that has been difficult to treat. I'd been to other PT locations with mixed success. I'm very glad I went to More. Ashwini V is the clinical lead and she did my intake eval. Instant credibility. She is knowledgeable; intellectually curious; and clearly loves what she is doing and cares genuinely about patient progress. My week to week therapist has been Gary Kang and he has been superior. He is doing manual therapy and a wide variety of stretches and uses every tool imaginable. He is seriously committed to his craft and sincerely cares about his patients. I have seen neuromuscular progress with Gary that I have not had before. My pain levels are way down and I have hope for real progress. He's committed and creative. Strongly recommend both Ash and Gary. It takes a little while to get on the schedule down there. But it is worth it.
Everyone at MORE Physical Therapy have been amazing. I have been going to MORE for 3 months due to having shoulder reconstruction surgery. Both Ash and Gary are fantastic. Gary spent the most time with me and he worked wonders! From day one, Gary's attention to detail with my shoulder is why I am able to reach up and over my head today. Never rushed, Gary took his time and made sure we were both in sync with my recovery process. This doesn't mean Gary didn't push me. He made sure I felt it. There were times (kidding around mind you) that I wanted to 'pummel' Gary due to the challenges I had to face when it comes to PT, but no matter what I said, Gary always smiled and kept moving forward. I can not say enough about how much I appreciate the time Gary spent with me. He loves what he does and it shows. Even though Gary takes his job seriously, he likes to have fun with his clients. This balance is what I needed to get to where I am today. Thank you, Gary! Oh, I have to mention both PTA's Nate and Yim. They assist Gary and Ash are great guys! Both very knowledgeable and great with clients as well. HIGHLY recommend MORE Physical Therapy!
I have chronic neck/shoulder and lower back pain. I don't know how it feels to be pain-free in years. I've have seen many chiropractors and tried physical therapy but didn't see much improvement. I'm so glad I found Gary at More Therapy. Gary is so knowledgeable in his field and truly care about finding the root cause and the right solution to help you feel better. For the first time, I'm seeing progress and excited to continue my treatment. Also, big shoutout to Danh. Danh is always so nice and patient with my exercises. It's been a great experience working with this team. I hope they stay at this location for a long time. I will continue seeing them as long as they are here.
Gary Kang is incredible and inspirational. I am a soon-to-be USC DPT student, and I first sought Gary's treatment at another PT clinic near Palo Alto in order to address some of my movement, stability and neuromuscular concerns through a cash-based wellness program. I will speak on the breadth and depth of ability that I know he uses and continually sharpens for the benefit of his patients, and not merely what I have seen him do at my appointments with MORE. Gary has my utmost respect as a healthcare provider, and I hope to be his client for life. Gary employs a plethora of manual, movement and neurofacilitatory techniques to address your concern from many angles. Each session with him can be totally different, even if he is targeting the same problem. For me, it was my shoulder for swimming. I have been to and worked at some clinics in this area, and Gary's skills and reasoning are unparalleled. But Gary also emphasizes patient education, listening to you as a person and making recovery easy to understand and attainable for those who are willing to invest in themselves. I actually have so much fun when I work with Gary! I have been able to go back to swimming, which I had stopped due to lingering shoulder joint pain and uncomfortable nerve tension. Not only did he address these mechanical issues, he also improved my daily function and performance. He used, among other techniques, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in different patterns to borrow power from my strong side to build the weaker side's connection with my brain. I found my arm stroke felt less choppy, with greater trunk support, and glutes that are no longer silent, making my swimming mechanics better than they were before. After seeing him, swimming and walking both feel more balanced, connected, and effortless. What else has he helped me with? The list goes on: correcting asymmetry in my pelvis; waking up dormant muscle groups such as glutes, rotator cuff, diaphragm, visceral organs, and trunk and cervical stabilizers; reducing nerve pain even during my gym routine; bettering my mood, digestion, sleep, energy, breathing and inflammation. Gary's treatments have a compounding effect, meaning the strides you gain at the end of one session last long enough for you to have a headstart your next session. Other therapists I have seen at other clinics rarely boast of such quick turnaround in their patients, but for Gary this is his norm. Gary has the explosiveness of a mantis shrimp, the agility of a jaguar, and the eyes of an eagle. Gary is the MMVP: MORE's Most Valuable Player! I guess that's why if you want to book with Gary, MORE strongly advises patients to see other therapists every 3-5 visits.
I had a really bad experience at another physical therapy clinic from a different company, so from the advice of my orthopedic surgeon, I decided to get my feet evaluated with Kaila at the Alameda location of MORE Physical Therapy. Unlike the other physical therapy clinic from another company, Kaila was very hands on and professional. She actually touched my foot to perform the assessment. She was efficient but effective in that she took her time performing the assessment protocol properly and completely instead of rushing things and skipping steps. Today I went to this location instead of the one in Alameda because I live in the Silver Creek/Evergreen area. Everyone here at this location here was positive, enthusiastic, and welcoming. From Daisy greeting us in the front to Nate assisting me with the exercises. Also Danh who was helping me along with Nate at the end with my electrical stimulation. My physical therapist today was Simran. Very personable. Very good at what she does. And the most important thing is that she used her hands to manually perform physical manipulation on both of my feet. THIS is the reason why I came to get physical therapy...for PAIN RELIEF. Simran REALLY understands this, and we talked about the importance of manual physical manipulation in addition to exercises. But beyond this, she also gave me VERY important advice on how to keep my feet from getting hurt. PREVENTION. And then after all that, she finally gave me the exercises for strength and mobility work on my muscle, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues around the problem area. She also put me on electrical stimulation, which the other physical therapy clinic from a different company refused to do for some unclear reason. Simran was very thorough. Very professional. Very personable. Not afraid to touch my feet to perform physical manual manipulation. Gave excellent advice on how to prevent further damage or injury to the feet by wearing slippers. Very complete. Very Easygoing. I can trust Simran that she will take very good care of me, and that gives me a peace of mind knowing that I will get better in her hands (literally).
I've had some inconsistent shoulder pain for a few months and initially tried to do some exercises at home. After a period of limited improvement, I knew I had to seek professional help. My first session was with Ashwini, then I had a pleasure to work with Gary. I've noticed significant improvement within a few sessions working with Gary because he spent time analyzing my movement as an individual and not just a joint. I arrived with shoulder pain, and he began mobilizing my ribs. Sounds odd, right?! Gary was very patient and explained that often times pain originates from dysfunction within our spine, which leads to abnormalities within the shoulder. Gary also asked questions to understand my daily routine to detect if there is some thing else causing my pain. I explained that my shoulder pain is the worst in the morning if I sleep on it. But how do you control your sleeping position...when you're, asleep?! We discussed specific sleeping arrangements that reduced my pain the next morning. Gary's approach to exercise is very unique. We try different movements together and reassess if there is improvement. I can almost guarantee that you will not be able to find them on Google Image, YouTube, or any famous platform of exercises. I recommend asking someone to record your movements if you will easily forget the exercises after your session. I have exercises for both my ribs and my shoulder. I will make sure I master them before I leave because I couldn't find them online either. As a member of Kaiser insurance, I am a cash pay client. I still chose to work with Gary because I trust his insight and expertise. Physical therapy only succeeds if the patient is willing to put in the work. If you're ready to address any dysfunction's, I highly recommend working with a PT for eval then Gary PTA.
