List of Norcal Imaging - San Leandro's Reviews
WHEN: Tue @8amI was disappointed to learn that NorCal Imaging does not take appointments for x-rays (at this location at least), so when I asked when would be the best time to come, they said at 8am when they open. They do walk-ins only and it would have been a 45 minute wait if I showed up the day before in the afternoon.Anyway, I did what was suggested, and arrived at 7:55am.There was plenty of free parking. They will have signs that states ONE HOUR PARKING which is fine, because I was in and out in a total of 45 minutes.I thought I was early, but it turns out they open earlier for people to sign in, and it looks like there were 2 people already ahead of me! There was maybe 5 others in the waiting room, keeping their distance. I appreciate how there are signs and markers on the floor to remind patience to keep their distance. All staff are masked. After signing in, and filling out paperwork (clearly highlighted where I need to fill out), I waited maybe 10 minutes until my name was called.I had some x-rays done, it was super quick and easy. Everyone was nice, and I was on my way.
This NorCal Imaging has been documenting false or incorrect information. I went for CT with or without contrast and the technician didn't do with contrast. I had another test, ultrasound June 8th 2022 at 11:15am. The report was ready but I was not allowed to have a copy. I do understand the process however, I was able to get the CD to take over to Alta Bates Radiology. I was told I wouldn't get the report until Friday (today). The report was sent over yesterday morning June 9th 2022. This office has done nothing but play games. I have very painful nodules in neck and thyroid but I'm sure they are changing the information to someone elses report. This office is upset with my reviews but the truth must be told. If this doesn't help me hopefully it helps another patient. This office has harassed my mother on many occasions. She has medical insurance. They continue to bill her. Her insurance covers her visits. Many seniors have been taken advantage of. SHAME ON YOU ALL!! They have continue to charge or over charge patients for service when they shouldn't be charged. This office should be WATCHED!!
I was uncomfortable about the Covid safety protocol the entire time I was there, approximately 45 to 60 minutes. I have gone there many times and made appointments online. When I called for an appointment I was told everything was drop-in. With drop in, it is impossible to control the flow of patients. There are signs in the very small waiting room that say observe 6 ft. social distancing yet the chairs were placed barely 2 ft. apart. All the seats were occupied and some people were standing at one point. When my name was called, I was taken to a second waiting room for an x-ray. The space in that waiting area was HUGE and there were just two people waiting for x-ray. I've gone there for most of my testing needs, but would not go there again.
My physician sent in a fax for an MRI of my back two days ago and said to wait a day before calling to be sure it was in the system. Called yesterday, on breaks twice as it took over 20 minutes on hold so couldn't stay on the first time, and they had no record. So I called my physician to resend. They resent twice so a total of three requests. Just finished this last call. They still have no request and said they'd fax my doctors office and ask them to call in (which I could have done). he woman I spoke with asked what kind of MRI and I said my back. She wanted to know specifically which part of my back and I said I didn't know what the doctor ordered. Well, she said, you should know what part of your back hurts as though specific pain in one location is the only reason for a MRI. I said I have ongoing back problems, I'm not the doctor, I don't know what was ordered. She said she needed the information to fax the office. I said I was frustrated, she should just be able to ask in the fax and repeated I didn't write the order. She said she didn't need to deal with my hostility. In the middle of saying theres a difference between hostility and anger and frustration, but didn't get very far as she hung up on me. I'm sure my voice was raised, but I was not yelling or attacking her. So I called my doctors office, told them what happened, and asked them to refer me elsewhere. I wouldn't even bother calling - ask for a different place.
Although the CT scan technician Chris was great, there were two major issues with the facility itself. The first was that the front door was not handicap accessible, as there was no automatic door opener. There is evidently an accessible door on the side of the building, but there is no sign in the front that indicates that. When I asked the supervisor about it, she told me there used to be a sign but it had been removed for some reason and the property management company hadn't replaced it. She hadn't followed up with them. Also, the protocol for signing in at the front desk is using a clipboard with an attached pen. Everyone uses the same pen and there was no hand sanitizer in the dispenser. When I asked about this, saying that most medical offices had holders for clean and used pens, the receptionist showed me their two labeled containers of pens, which she had on her desk BEHIND the glass partition. She said that the clipboard pen got sanitized, but while I was waiting for my appointment, numerous people signed in and the pen was not sanitized. Again the supervisor was full of excuses, saying that they had had the containers out but that they kept falling off the counter.
I went here for referral by an urgent care. They let me drive there for nothing and did not prepare the paper work ready. Finally, they took xray on me at a delayed appointment. They supposed to claim the fee through worker's compensation. They kept sending me bills without providing their phone number. It looked like a scam letter when I presented to my worker's compensation agent. Without calling me or notify me further, this facility directly sent the bill plus penalty fees to collection agent. It affected my credit score when I am doing refinancing my house. Avoid if you can!!!!
Have been trying to book an appointment with them since yesterday. I have nearly called them 15 times and i still dint get through anyone. I schedule an appointment somehow but dint receive any confirmation text or email that my appointment was scheduled. They just keep you on waiting for straight 20mins just to book an appointment on phone. I called them again to reschedule my appointment to the earliest date if possible but they still kept me on hold/waiting. No one answered the call and i had to hang up always.
I have had mammogram done there for several years and was always satisfied - either with an appointment or walk-in. I received a reminder letter from Norcal that I was due for a mammogram. I've tried several times to schedule an appointment because I am elderly, have chronic health issues, and have been advised by my doctor to avoid small crowded spaces. Their waiting room is very small. The website says call for an appointment ; I've called four times during the past few months. The recorded message says leave your number and someone will call back to schedule an appointment, and no one has called back. If you have other options for a mammogram, I suggest you try somewhere else.
Haven't been there in several years. Was scheduled for an MRI. After nearly an hour past my appointment time, I informed the staff that I had a dental visit scheduled soon."Just a few more minutes" More waiting, then finally told: "We're ready for you. You should call your dentist and put him off for a while" I left. Now a new Dr. has sent me for another scan. Just called and was given the: "Your call is very important to us. Please hold for next available agent" NOPE Going elsewhere.
OMG how is this open 'MRI??? This is still close for me!!! Do not come here if claustrophobic- go to San Jose stand up MRI- now that I'm here and see machine!! Ahh wasted time - I didn't want to be half way in anything.. they needed mri of ankle and my head was half way in with rest of body. ThAt being said people were very nice! I don't know why other reviews were mean. Every one was great!! Hated machine!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
