I have been going to NorCal imaging for about 20 years back when it was Pacific imaging. There have been times when the management was not hiring the best of staff for the front desk and scheduling people in the background. Now it has completely changed! NorCal has made a point of hiring caring and compassionate employees who do their best to assist you politely with compassion. Because of the overload in the healthcare industry as a whole you cannot always get appointments exactly when you want them but the whole team is extremely helpful in helping me to get an appointment when I need one by adding me to a cancellation list, they listen to my concerns when I arrive if I have specific needs, and all of the techs are highly professional. I got a call back for a mammogram and I have a family situation which makes me very sensitive and scared of breast cancer and the entire staff was helpful and kind about my anxiety. Especially helpful were Maria, Erica and Uidirea, and Gabby. Also the ultrasound tech actually gave me a hug when I had tears, I am sorry I did not get her name, but I hope you are lucky enough to have her if you need an ultrasound. Yesterday when I visited for the ultrasound they were training a new person at the front desk and it was very clear that she was being trained optimally. There was somebody sitting right with her and assisting her the entire time and making sure that there were no errors and this new employee was just as sweet as all of the others I have seen in NorCal recently. I don't know all of the names but they are all good! There was a time about 10 years ago where I dreaded making the call to NorCal to make an appointment or to show up at the front desk. Of course any medical industry sometimes has a wait time. I have never been rushed out of a procedure and not had all my questions answered so I expect that I may have to wait a few minutes to get in for my appointments. I understand the need of arriving early because often people do not have the right paperwork and it has to be adjusted and sometimes they need to call the doctor's office which takes time to keep the office running smoothly. So if you are one of those complaining about having to arrive early for your appointment you are possibly one of the ones who holds up the rest of the group, kinda like kindergarten. Anyways, my main point is that even when I can't get exactly what I want, the whole team is completely compassionate and helpful and tries to explain and try their best to meet my needs. I have had some very negative experiences with other healthcare environments recently (at the ER) where the staff that has been hired obviously hate their job. Any simple question you ask you will get barked at in return. So having a compassionate staff in a medical environment is very meaningful. Most of the people there are not feeling well and are anxious about results and about the procedure itself Etc. It is hard enough to deal with health problems without having barking b****** haha. I have not seen one of those at NorCal in a very long time. I even got to speak with the manager and the radiologist a few weeks ago and let them know about my new experiences at NorCal in relation to past years. Of course the manager was very happy to hear that I had had such a pleasant experience and mentioned that they are making a concerted effort to hire excellent friendly staff, recognizing the need for their patients to be served in a kind and compassionate way. One thing I have noticed is that the people in the front office will now get up and go get the paperwork from some of the patients if they can see that they are struggling to get up and down to hand back the clip board again and again for paperwork questions and filling things out. These compassionate "little" touches show the patients that the staff understands that it is hard for them to get up and down, especially those who are limping or physically challenged in other ways. It is sad that no one ever notices when people are nice, they only go and complain when they don't get everything they want. Our world could use a lot more thank yous and a lot less gimme gimme gimme. Thank you NorCal imaging for providing kind compassionate and friendly service. All the way from making the phone call to schedule, to checking I even when I DONT have the right paperwork, to receiving the results very quickly in the radnet portal which is now being offered to every patient when they come in. It really does make a difference! Annie E.
