Dr. Raffi Tachdjian has old school bedside manner with new school skills, understanding and technology. All around great allergist and doctor.

I have bad allergies and went to Dr Tachdjian to request shots . I had had them many years ago so I knew what I needed . I called my insurance to make sure I was covered and Dr Tachdijian was in network . Upon booking my appointment I was told that they requested $200 up front . A little unusual given I had met my deductible but i went with it . I met Dr Tachdjian for the initial consultation . Upon my next visit the receptionist handed me a form requesting $500 up front for allergy shots . She said the compound cost them $1600 to make . I explained that my insurance covered 90% the cost and that would be $160 and asked what the extra cost was . They said it was office policy . I called a couple of other allergists at UCLA and Cedars and both said that this was unheard of. It felt more like a car dealership move than a doctor . I canceled my appointment and saved myself $500 and hoping I get the $200 back .

Literally is withholding my serum ingredients to transfer to another allergist so I will have to pay 100 dollars to ship it every time I need new vials for maintenance shots. I am quite curious to know why it is the office policy to not share my vial information at least with me. If Dr. T really believes in his MPH I'd prefer he had the decency to allow patients that leave to be able to have their vial information in full.

The Dr seemed very nice but thats not really the point .If I had known I would have rescheduled ..

I've had numerous doctors in both NY and LA trying to solve my medical problem for over thirty years. Pulmonologists, allergists, GI's and GP's. Had been taking 5 medications daily. Finally, I met Dr Tachdjian. He suggested something completely different. It worked! I am incredibly grateful. He is a brilliant, caring, out-of-the-box thinker. And his staff always includes capable young assistants heading to medical school to follow in his footsteps. Scott is the latest and he is terrific. I wish Google could add sixth star for this great team.

I had a bad experience . The doctor office told me that my insurance doesn’t cover the consultation with Dr. Tachdjian. I contacted my insurance many time and they confirmed several time that the My plan cover any doctor that accept insurance. Also my insurance wanna talk with the office directly to solve the problem but the secretary denied to talk with them. I have a PPO insurance, my family paid more than $1,600 per month. If I have the opportunity to use the insurance of course I would like to use it. The doctor office blamed my insurance but I concluded that they didn’t wanna get patience with insurance, only patience with cash. I understand that, but do not make me waste my time trying get the insurance approved . It is better be sincere since the beginning .

Dr Tachdjian used to be really responsive and helpful. Not anymore. Even though they're a small office, his office staff is poor at communicating. He seems to be all about the money now and not his patients. Very disappointing.

My family has been seeing Dr. Tachdjian for 10+ years and he’s honestly one of my favorite doctors. My brother sees him for allergies and I see him for my Hereditary Angioedema management. He’s very friendly, knowledgeable, and comforting. He goes above and beyond for his patients, and even takes time to check in on me when he knows I’ve had a bad HAE attack (or if he hasn’t heard from me in a while). He’s contacted my local hospital (when I was out of town, visiting my mom) to educate them on what was going on and help coordinate treatment when I started having a really bad throat swell and even got me in touch with another HAE doctor in the area in case I had another attack while I was there. He always making sure my prescriptions are up to date and that I have enough meds, and when I do need a new RX, he handles it right away. I have nothing but great things to say about him and would definitely recommend him to anyone in SoCal with HAE.

Raffi is great. I know he's an allergist, but he's done two amazing things non-allergy related: 1) he cured my chronic cough, and 2) diagnosed the source of the terrible blisters on my knee following knee surgery. Re: the cough: I'd been having an annoying cough that waxed and waned for years. I was being treated by different doctors for asthma, acid reflux, and allergies, any one of which could be causing the cough. But none of the treatments got rid of it for long. One day I noticed that I didn't cough when I was working out at the gym. Since he's really good at solving puzzles, I thought I'd see if he could figure out my cough. He thought it could have something to do with my parasympathetic nervous system. He put me on gabapentin, and within a couple of months, my cough was gone! To be fair, my ENT, Dr. Amanda Salvado also suggested the gabapentin. I give credit to both of them. As for the blisters on my knee following surgery for a torn meniscus, my surgeon was sure it was an allergic reaction and he sent me to Raffi to figure out what I was allergic to. When the tests came back negative, he listened to my story (apparently, the assistant who interviewed me didn't pass on the most relevant piece of information) and immediately concluded that they were friction burns caused by the rubbing of the bandage (which had slipped down) while doing the exercises the surgeon gave me post-surgery. Anyway, all this is to say that Raffi is great at thinking outside the box and listens to the whole story to figure out a problem. He's also a very fun and funny guy!
