List of Ucla Medical Group's Reviews
Super frustrating experience with Dr Akhondi’s staff at Moody Court a Thousand Oaks . The doctor is top notch but his staff is grossly incompetent! My husband went for a cardiac categorisation procedure and the staff didn’t get the pre authorisation from blue shield. Turns out the staff doesn’t understand how to get pre or Post authorisations. So Blue shield refused to pay this claim three times now in the past two months. What makes it worse is that we paid 2000 bucks as co pay which isn’t registered to our yearly deductible because of this error . We’ve contacted the staff including Anait the office manager and UCLA customer satisfaction over 20! Times but they’re not even calling back . Shame on UCLA and this level of ‘care’
Normally doctors would have experience in their works. not here, the money is expensive as buying a tv.
great doctors and great staff
I have read through these reviews and am STUNNED! I have had nothing but great experiences at UCLA Westrlake Village. This includes my Primary care Dr. Sonya Heitman, Endocrinologist Dr. Golfnung, and 3 or 4 other.. none that I see mentioned in these poor reviews. I have done many lab visits and Phlebotomy's all on time and with incredible service by the staff's involved. I am on Medicare so maybe that's why I haven't seen a bill in 3 years. That also means they aren't getting paid much for whatb they do.Also, I had a horrible case of Covid and was guided through it virtually with great care by Dr. Heitman. Jim Plateroti
My mom received the first dose of the vaccine and they are very organized and quick!
Very clean well equipped medical facility. Friendly and helpful staff. Entrance to building is.in the back where the parking lot is.
What prompted me to open a yelp account? Well let me share our experience with UCLA which has been a horrendous nightmare. Our entire family "used to" seek out UCLA for our healthcare needs- Not anymore. UCLA had the audacity to bill a few months ago for services from 2019 that conveniently passed the 180 days plus allowed to correct issues with my insurance company that UCLA is contracted with. This billing practice is highly deceptive. When trying to connect with UCLA we were only met with apathy and zero regard or consideration for our reduction in pay as a result of COVID downsizing also working in healthcare. Upon reaching out last week again we were finally told they could split the payment across 6 months, only to then be told yesterday that I was sent to collections ONLY 1 week later and 60 days past due on their invoice while our insurance was still escalating the issue to re-determine and reassess benefits. The charge for 1 office visit was $600 that they were unwilling to work with us on and they were quick to charge us off to collections only showing the greed that UCLA exhibits with respect to their patients yet it took them how many months to bill? 7! We are fortunate that we live in a community rich in amazing healthcare access. The patient experience further extends from the time you check in to the physician to billing and more importantly the people in between that you entrust for your care. With the deceptive practices that we have experienced, we cannot put that trust in UCLA any further. We could not be more disappointed with this experience and clear lack of concern especially during a time where many people in California rely on their health care providers for care for COVID among other healthcare concerns. I only hope that others do not face the same robbing from UCLA or other greedy healthcare providers.
Truly the worst and most uncaring service I have ever received. A BAD server at McDonald's cares more than anyone here. UCLA is constantly canceling appointments. Calling to reschedule is impossible. It's outsourced. You can't contact the local office let alone your actual doctor. The doctors themselves are the most self serving, self righteous, uncaring "humans" I have ever encountered: ever. Anywhere. Again... McDonalds employees put in more effort and care/The doctors put in no effort. The doctors do not care. It is only about the amazing benefits and great hours; for the doctors, obvously. Dr Heivand answered no questioned. Dr Heivand made no attempt to address my concerns. Dr Heivand does not care. Dr Heivand is useless. I feel worse after seeing Dr Heivand.
UCLA has a great medical system, and this location is nice and new. Includes general practice on the 2nd floor, and dermatology on the first floor. Ample waiting room space, and friendly staff
RUN as fast you can, far away from this RIP OFF UCLA location facility!! The office is in suite 200 on 100 Moody Court. I just went there for a 15 minute appointment, and had to wait 50 minutes. I had been told prior to the appointment that UCLA accepted my insurance, otherwise I would not have gone to this new doctor. After getting pre-approved from my insurance company and from the intake office at UCLA, and waiting 8 weeks for the appointment they informed me when I arrived today, they didn't take my insurance. Since I was already there and fearful of possibly having throat cancer, I said I'd pay the cash price for the appointment. When I asked what the cash price would be, they said they had no idea, they could only give me the price after the appointment. I asked if they had a ballpark price... $100....$300? The receptionist said she could not give me a price, not even a range. Ridiculously rude! Since I had waited for 2 months for the appointment after being told they took my insurance I felt I had to take the appointment in fear of having to wait again for months for another appointment somewhere else while getting sicker. I had never been to an ENT, so I took the slot that I had waited for, for nearly 2 months. The doctor. Dr. Holliday, spent a less than 10 minutes getting my history, which I provided in written form, which he read in less than 2 minutes. Next, he did a nasal scope to look at my throat. The national average for this procedure is $267. Thankfully I am healthy, and all looked good. The CASH price for my 15 minute visit (since they didn't take my insurance) was over $1,600!!!! They wanted payment right then and there. Plus the scope device they used may not have been clean, as an assistant had used it for another patient while I was there, and when she returned it minutes later she was not wearing gloves. She couldn't hang it up correctly she said "this is really stupid!" as she yanked it into the wall unit.. It was gross. I hope it had been sterilized. On top of everything else, there was someone else's blood, a large dried brownish red spot that had dipped on the floor, which was really disgusting and a biohazard!! Stay away from this RIP OFF office unless you like to be ripped off and interacting with rude and unprofessional staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
