List of Larson Mental Health's Reviews
I’m reposting this review after previously taking it down in response to the owner's dismissive reply, which attempted to invalidate my concerns on the technicality that I was not the patient. That response ignored the substance of the critique, which was based on my direct involvement as a parent closely supporting my loved one through a very difficult experience with this practice. I called their office myself and experienced firsthand the rigidity and lack of responsiveness with which they handle such situations. In fairness to the other clinicians working there, this is not their fault—it’s the result of owner and management policy. The owner will likely reply again with some attempt to deflect or abdicate responsibility, but nothing in this review is speculative; it reflects direct experience. Original review: If you're looking for psychiatric care that prioritizes responsiveness, empathy, and patient-centered collaboration—especially during the critical period of starting a new medication—this group may not be the right fit. Client interactions are rigidly transactional: follow-up is delayed even when early monitoring is clinically important, and missed appointments due to symptoms incur steep financial penalties that must be paid before rescheduling. It’s a business-as-usual approach to mental health—more likely to provoke anxiety than to provide reliable, compassionate support.
They never answer the phone, lord knows what the receptionist even gets paid to do. Takes forever to get a call back even about urgent medication/prescriptions. I’d recommend any other place in Boulder.
I had a really great experience with Daniel. He was thourough and listened. He was recommended to be by a friend and she was right, he was excellent.
Dr. Daniel is a professional and has helped me a lot in improving my mental health.
I felt very comfortable talking with Breanna. She was very professional and respectful. She treated me very well
The dismissive attitude of your secretary, Jessica, is the last thing someone looking for help with their mental health needs. In fact, it’s downright disrespectful and thereby detrimental to the process. It’s as if your company doesn’t actually want to help when the person answering your phone is allowed to speak to callers with a smug tone that sounds like it’s meant to placate a crazy person. Trying to evaluate a mental health issue is sometimes difficult and requires understanding and patience, neither of which was evident in your receptionists phone skills and lack thereof. I am not impressed with the lack of oversight or training that gives Jessica the green light to speak to adult patients as if speaking to a child. She is the point of contact for your company and as such has put me off once again when I am looking for help. The following has been added since reading your response: So your automated bullshit response leads me to believe that your company doesn’t actually not actually give a crap about my experience and I would personally love a phone from your company to discuss your inadequate and again, dismissive attitude. Looks like you neither appreciate nor respect your clients enough to make an actual effort to resolve a complaint and my obvious recourse is to find a different provider. Thanks for wasting my time.
Wonderful and friendly staff!
I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Larson Mental Health. I had an appointment scheduled for a Monday, and I made multiple attempts to cancel it starting the Friday before—calling three separate times after hours and leaving messages. No one got back to me until days later, only to charge me $175 for a missed appointment I had clearly tried to cancel. Every time I called them I sat on hold listening to an automated system saying they were busy. I would leave a voicemail with my contact information and nothing. When I called again later to address the issue, I spoke with Jessica, who was incredibly rude, dismissive, and made no effort to understand or assist me. They said there was no evidence of me ever calling. For a facility that’s supposed to support people dealing with mental health issues, their lack of compassion and professionalism was shocking. They let me run out of my medication, and instead of helping me navigate the situation, they refused to provide any support until I paid the fee—something I simply couldn’t afford at the time. Eventually, they sent me my records and that was that. I’m out of important medications and have to sit in a waitlist for a new psychiatrist.
I got a really fast appointment and really liked my practitioner!
Great first experience!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
