I have participated in several clinical trials with Dr. Cohen with fabulous results. Dr. Cohen and his staff are always kind, caring and professional. I highly recommend him for any skincare treatment or cosmetic procedure. He is excellent!
Dr. Joel Cohen is an outstanding practitioner. No one is better at Mohs surgery. He and his staff are highly professional and compassionate.
Dr. Cohen is a perfectionist; his expertise is unmatched. He is so professional, yet easy to talk to and friendly. His staff is responsive, helpful, and friendly. Thank you, Dr. Cohen
We were blown away by the care and concern of Dr. Cohen. He goes well above the call of duty and really cares about his patients.
We were extremely impressed by the professionalism of Dr. Cohen. He goes above and beyond the call of duty and truly cares about his patients. His work is superb, only outshined by his kind and gentle demeanor.
I have been impressed with my Botox treatment from Dr Cohen at AboutSkin Dermatology. He and his staff are incredibly professional and pleasant. Maddie is always flexible and accommodating with my hectic schedule. Dr. Cohen takes time and a genuine interest in his patients. I highly recommend him for any cosmetic procedures.
Recently went through my records from this practice and found several interesting comments. Consistently noted I need to use EltaMD sunscreen (which they rep) with a nasty note that a hat is not enough. No mention of the La Roche-Posay SPF55 that I use each day. Inconsistent across the practice with my Fitzpatrick skin type. No recognition of the very high correlation between the "deal" offered of combined lasers with dark streaks and melasma spots. Dr Steve C (no longer there) did mention how aggressive he likes to be.
I thought the pre-op appointment laid out what to expect for my Mohs surgery. In the middle of my procedure, the doctor suggested we consider a skin graft instead. At the time, I had a hole in my face and my anxiety was through the roof (not the time to make a decision about changing direction of a procedure). I went with the doctor's suggestion, which I later regretted. Following the skin graft, I had multiple rounds of lasering and microneedling to try and smooth out the area. I was unhappy with the process and outcome.
Last Fall, I was diagnosed with 2 squamous cell carcinomas that required Mohrs surgery. I was in the process of moving from Missouri to Colorado. The leg one was done by my doctor in Kansas City and he referred me to Dr. Joel Cohen, MD in Denver to perform the facial one. His work was excellent and I'm very happy with the results. Also, he was caring, provided good education about the procedure and what I should expect about the wound care and healing process. But, the MOST important thing that I'm thankful for was he noticed a concerning small spot on my arm, just at sleeve level. It was melanoma...luckily in situ. That surgery went exceptionally well also. Most recently, I've had an infiltrating basal cell carcinoma on my ear requiring Mohrs which he, as usual was very informative to me about the surgery/healing and that it would likely be more painful than my others...it has been. He does excellent work, he's informative and it was very noticeable to me how considerate and respectful he is to his staff. I'm hoping to done with all these surgeries, but if not, I know I've got a great one!
Dr. Cohen has performed three Mohs surgeries, one on my nose, and one on each ear for squamous cell carcinoma’s. The results were phenomenal, one requiring a skin graft. The care received was above and beyond expectations. And I highly recommend him for any type of plastic surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
