The first time since I moved here 4 years ago that I am. Pleased with the care provided. Dr. Shaivi Patel was very knowledgeable, clearly addressed the issues I have with my eyes and had suggestions to try and improve my vision. I highly suggest you give her a try. The staff at the Smyrna office are also very friendly.

Delaware Eye is the Best. We always have a pleasant trip. My family sees Dr. Berman and Dr. Doyle. We wouldn’t see anyone else. These two doctors are the BEST.

The folks at the Smyrna Delaware Eye Care are the best! Dr Berman has been my eye Dr. for about 40 years and has always taken excellent care of my eyes. Our family feels safe with him. He takes time to listen and does his best to make sure all bases are covered. The optical dept. techs are friendly and very helpful and patient when we are trying on different frames, etc. and they follow up to make sure all is well. At the front desk there is a girl who has been there a long time and she always greeted us with a big smile and genuine welcome. There is no waiting for hours on end at Smyrna like at other locations. We are usually called within 5 or 10 minutes! There is an excellent team at the Smyrna location. They all work together to make it an efficient and caring environment. What a blessing!

Delaware Eye Care Center is in direct violation of HIPAA (release of PHI, or private health information) and the FTC Ophthalmic Practice Rules (16 CFR Part 456), commonly known as the Eyeglass Rule, for refusing to provide patients with their pupillary distance measurement, as part of their prescription, upon request. This has apparently been going on "for years" according to one of their doctors, due to the fact that patient will take their FULL prescription to another business to buy less expensive glasses. This mandate comes "from corporate" and no amount of discussing this with any level of staff in the office, from doctor to receptionist, changes anything.

I have seen Dr. Berman for decades and he is the best. I appreciate his knowledge, care and hard work all these years. At the office I’ve been seen in an efficient manner and all charges are explained so no surprises out the door.

I have been coming here for years. Dr Berman is fantastic. This practice was lucky to get him. I am so sad that he will be retiring next year. He will be greatly missed.
